      dear C91BLX7, i envy your valve cover. what kind of paint did you use? it looks amazing =)

          it appears that he had a cover stripped halfway decent,, not to good, then just sprayed purple candy over it... unfortunately clear does not bond to alluminum,, it will peel right off.

          it needs to be etched primed..

          to get a look similar maybe even better prime it like it needs to be., a chrome paint and then candy over that would have a longer lasting finish.

              keel is right. If you go to bare metal you need to spray etch primer first. it helps with adhesion and adds corrosion protection. after the ethch primer you're good to go.

                  for a showcase engine that won't exceede heat temps you can do much more crazzy art, than when you knows it's going to be abused and have heat oil, etc on it all the time.

                  Even when they are prepped correctly sometimes the paint will still fail. unfortunately.
