fog light wireing (cpmike and timmyotool)

ok so i was looking over the wiring of foglights and i found a diffrence between the two diagrams and i thought mabe this is the reason my releys would melt after a while if its not the reason just tell me which diagram i should use of the two. So in timmys diagram it says ground pin 85 of the relay and pin 86 goes to the switch

but in cpmikes diagram of the switch it says pin 86 is grounded and pin 85 goes to the switch

I just received an OEM fog switch the other day, yet I do not have fogs. I bought the switch jsut for looks.

My question: is there a way to make the switch light up (like the rear defrost) without having the fog lights? also I do not have the pig tail either and I am no stranger to soldering.

I just want the thing to light up when I turn on my parking/headlights (the green background in the switch).

I hope someone can understand what I'm saying.

Just conect Power +/- see if the light comes on?

Get a Pos. and neg. wire and start trying them tell the light comes on.

anyone that has info on this can you post cuz im doing my foglights in jan and i aint trying to melt relays over here lmao!!!

i got the JDM fogs, the switch, and 2of 3 harness(i think i have a and b) anyways help?

ummm and yea just connect the switch to the hazard switch, i noticed tonight the defrost doesnt light up unless you put it on but the hazard triangle lights up when ur headlights come on so wire it up to the hazard and ground it and when u turn headlights on it should light up.

not sure about when u push it...should light up as well!

to get it to light up without being functional, only hook up pins A and D. one to power, one to ground, doesnt matter which is which (as is the case with all light bulbs). you can pull power from the hazard switch wiring (dont know which wires it is) or really any 12volt source.

same goes for relay wiring, pins 85 and 86 are interchangeable, so it doesnt matter which goes to which. both of our diagrams are correct.

I don't believe it does. I just turned mine on and no light. The defroster and fog switches are backlit and they also have a separate light when pushed on.

                        ...adjust accordingly
