ya thats not the best idea. i know many instances where cars have accidentally been remote started while in gear in a shop and crashed into a wall.

everyone says that they wont but fact is shit happens. my advice is dont put remote start on a manual.

        1. Get a manual transmission model specific remote start.
        2. Follow instructions.

You should be able to go to the remote starter manufacturer's website and download the installation manual for your model. I've done five different ones and they all have instructions in the manual on how to bypass the clutch switch. I haven't done my coupe because I know I'll leave it in gear some time and thumb the button.

they sell a neutral safety switch for the viper alarms so you cannot start your car in a gear. its the only way to make sure your safe

A true manual trans remote starter won't work unless it sees the parking brake in on, and also checks that cranking speed is correct.

Think your starter motor is going to tow your car fast enough to fool the computer?

                      Nope.

it doesnt have to turn on but for a few seconds to do it.

my buddy had a remote in his pocket, leaned on something and activated the remote start sending the car into a wall. his boss had moved the car and left it in gear. you can be as careful as you want, but someone else could fuck your shit up quick.

i will only do it on cars with turbo timers, they have to be put in nuetral.

Doesn't sound like he had a manual trans remote start.

Both the door switch AND the parking brake would have disabled it.
