Just some pics from my speaker pod mod, a 6" alpine type R speaker set going into a Q-Logic speaker pod enclosure. (sorry for any blurry pics)

The hardest part was deciding how to mount the heavy little speaker. The pod had to hold the weight of the speaker so it had to be mounted securely.

The tweeter mount was easy enough. I used a piece of metal from a PCI slot cover from a old computer I had lying around.

Started the larger speaker mount...

Another challage was the decision to mount the speaker from behind the pod or in the front (drop it down in). The speaker was meant to be dropped into a box/pod, but for this to happen I would have to cut these tabs off of my speakers so it would sit flush in the pod. The other problem was a mounting issue.

Front....

Cutting and sanding. I had to make sure I had proper mounting holes but I also do not want the speaker diaphragm (or other parts) rubbing against the pod plastic.

Clean up chalk lines and put back together with proper screws and backing plate.

I think they turned out fine. I'm going to stick with the Type R speaker cover for now and if they break then I'll go back to the black covers that came with the pods. That's 1 done ..... now i get to do it all over again. I was also thinking of painting the pods a darker black or another color; what u think?
thanx
