What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.
You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
I have a full Eclipse sound system, but I'm not done with the installation.

I just need to finish my home made speaker pods up front because the magnet structure is so big that I can't fit the woofer in the OEM location!
You guys have nice systems, and I'm glad many of you know Eclipse!

I'm gonna start this week, I'll keep you posted
This is my first fiberglass experience, but from all the hints I got it should be pretty straight forward.
Where do you want to fit your 6 x 9's? In the doors? What's there originally, 6.5"?
You can get a spacer from your local specialty shop that'll help make it fit.
If it can help you guys do custom installs, I took a plexiglass that I shaped myself to fit in the rear OEM locations. In my 5th gen I have metal plates, and I believe 4th gens have the same type of metal plate. I basically copied the shape of the plate & drilled holes to mount my oversized woofer & the tweeter. The OEM grilles fit right back on top. Use at least 3/8" plexiglass, and put some sound deadener to eliminate the rattles caused by the plexi on the car's body. I'll post a pic as soon as I take one!
