                  um

I installed 250 watt alpine speakers from circuit city. I did the installation myself. yaaaaaaaay!

I also put in the bazooka subwoofer tube. (It wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. )

Now I have no money for an alpine cd deck and 10 disk cd changer.

To test it out, I drove around blasting DJ Icey while driving to school at 6:30.

                  Result: lots of people staring.

all around they are supposed to be 6.5" at least in my 91 they are. I had some Legacy 6.5" that were correct size but the magnets were way to big for the stock speaker basket in the front doors so i cut out the back of the basket. You may not have that problem as those were some huge magnets for 6.5"s as they were rated like 300watts each. I don't have them anymore as I got some lightning audio 6.5"s. Sound very good at $50 a pair from walmart actually better than the sony models and even the 3 and 4 way pioneers that they had at like twice as much. Those speakers were actually a little big larger than the other 6.5"s as I think some measure from the speaker rubber buffer instead of the whole thing including the outer metal speaker mount where the screw holes are. This is a common issue with a lot of cars and speakers so you may have a 6.5" speaker and car mount but the half an inch variance or so will keep you from being sure. You can still mount them with adapters, or heck, just drill into the metal of the car and stick that sucker in there anyways!

                    My system:
Volfenhaug head unit = no power, NO BASS

                    4 6.5" lightning audio 3ways at 150 watts each

2 12" legacy Blue Diamond subs at 500 rms 1000 watts max EAch
                    in My own design subbox
1000watt legacy blue diamond amp only actually putting out 75 watts rms per channel since the subs are wired at 4 ohms.
-people swear they aren't legacy. My box makes em sound way better than they normally would sound. I can't use my rear-view mirror! It just slides down. Realistically people hear me in their house from about a half a mile away. Oh yeah, they solve the no-bass problem of the head unit. If my subs aren't on tho it sounds like crap. I plan on a better head unit soon, maybe a screen. Actually maybe a computer and no head unit. Just a 4 channel amp and a tv/radio tuner in a breadbox pc. That'd be a first, at least that I know of lol.
