How hard is it to install a sub and amp?

    #2
    not hard. very easy

basically get a amp kit...it comes with all the stuff uneed...

u run a power wire from the battery, a remote to some switched device, even the deck...then ground it...then the wires to the sub, then the rca's from the aftermarket deck.

done, 2 hours for the beginner...

to get the line from the engine to the inside of the car get a coat hanger and tie it to the line and bring it down through a hole in the firewall...there are only 2 holes (one on each side, drivers and passenger).

also run the rca and the power wire on seperate sides of the car.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

I've never heard of doing that before...what's the reason behind that, I ran them both down the pasenger side becasue i didn't want to deal with running wires through the steering column...hmmm...is it because of possible interference?

the problem that is stated in that post is sometimes the noise or whine that may occur, just one of many ways noise could possibly get into the inputs of the amp. hence the long time proven philosophy of seperating the power from the rca (input) cables.

its like nothing in the world. definition of relaxation.

just don't go cheap on your rca's because that's usually the reason why you get any noise...at my shop we run everything together and 99.9% of the time never get any whining noise...

get some decent ones, no radioshack or "sheilded ones" for a vcr

When I put my sub and amp in, I just bought a Rockford Fosgate wiring kit for my car...came with everything but the speaker wire...made everything wicked easy.

                    Amp wire

Ur gonna need help...its kinda hard to run wires when ur by urself. Run the power wire through the fire wall. Its much cleaner that way. If you pull the carpet back under the glove box on the passenger side you will see a rubber grommet. Thats where you want to run it through. You can go purchase another grommet or you could slice a very tiny hole to run the wire through. Run the wire along the passenger side to the trunk...and the RCA's should most definately be ran on the other side. If you got any question email me...irishsoccer914@hotmail.com

Yup, u guys are right, I blew the "600 max watt" sub already in 20 mins after install.so i went to CC and got a Bazooka Elseries for $25 and it hits good on the low end and shitty on the high. i kinda notice that the first one sounded alittle loose so iv learn my lesson with a cheap low quality sub
