    Replacing injector seals...

I have a leaky injector, and after reading some info here I am planning to replace the seals very soon.

I am curious to know if I can use this as an opportunity to upgrade something in the hopes of achieving even a small HP gain. Or, can I upgrade something now in order to prepare for a future power adder?

In other words, while I'm wrenching to resolve this issue, is there an upgrade that I should consider?

    Currently stock F22A6...no mods.

    Thnx...later...

If you're speaking of fuel injector upgrades.....absolutely no need on a N/A engine, you will gain nothing because the OEM's can put out more than the N/A engine will ever need.

One thing you might consider is sending your injectors to this guy. I've heard good things about his work and you can be sure all your injectors are operating to their fullest!

Thanks Beast for that info...I contacted that guy too. Now I'm waiting for his response so I can get my injectors to him.

Yeah, send them to that guy and replace the seals and that's as much as you'll ever need to do to the injectors unless you go boosted.

One of these days, I'll get him to clean and flow test my injectors also.

Now I'm also trying to source some new seals. NAPA says approx $20 for the full set...PepBoys says approx $50...

BUT neither of them have it, and would have to order it. If I'm going to order it, and have to wait anyway...I may as well make sure I'm getting a price I am happy about.

I requested TAS to add it to the site in this thread...maybe he'll come up with it.

by seals do you mean the injector O-rings or the cushion rings or seal rings? When I did my HG, I just replaced the O-rings since the others were pretty much okay. It cost me about 8 or 12 bucks I can't remember, but the entire set of cushion, seal and o rings was about 45, but weren't needed so I returned them. Oh this is stealership Honda OEM btw.

just make sure the leak is from the seal and not from the body of the injector, i had a accord burn me like that...i looked at it good and it looked like the orings, but it came back like 3 days later for the fuel smell again, i then noticed the damn injctor body was leaking as well....but on the orings go to honda its just better...unless u have a berrodin parts warehouse around you...they sell basically the same brands honda sells, like gates and stuff...just cheaper...having the injectors cleaned cant hurt...

Yeah...I'm talking about all of those things. I see a leek where the injector meets the fuel rail, and at the other end also...

I like the idea of just changing them all, I don't want to have to do this again. I'm OCD like that sometimes...

LOL...how'd you get away with 10k plus posts sayin stuff like that? I'm not replacing the headgasket. I need the o-rings, and seals, that are used on the fuel injectors.

Thanks for trying tho...i'm gonna look tho, maybe I can find 'em on eBay

I replaced my injector selas a while back and suggest only OEM on something like this.

You can get the 8 seals for $25 shipped at Majestic

                          ^x2 for OEM.

Majestic or Honda Parts Deals for online stuff. Even your local Honda dealership is cheaper than the injector repair kits that auto parts stores sell @ $35 per injector.

I would just throw the stock injectors back in there with nothing done to them. putting a big injector in there will just force you to get a tune, and even then you are only gonna gain like 3 hp.

might as well clean out your EGR ports if you're taking the fuel rail/injectors out, its not that much more to it then that, it'll help your car run better if it hasnt been done before
