Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Doesn't sound like you did much research^^
And its exactly what I said, I didnt want to cut the cross member. I did my research, dont tell me different.

But if you say he wont need a front motor mount, so be it. There was a reason for it...

There also isnt any energy suspension side or rear inserts. Gotta DIY polly or buy some mounts.
I am in no way knocking your find, I just wanna add what you may get yourself into in the near future. If it clears, right on! The camp 1320 wouldnt have cleared mine without cutting into the cross member.

you dont need a front mount and while you're at it, get an esp traction bar, throw a small flex pipe on it and run a 3" all the way back, I would say that would be some nice upgrades

ALWAYS run a flexpipe regardless of the rest of your setup.

Just go 3" all the way back until your muffler. Welding shops can make reducers. No need to ruin your performance all because you wanted to keep a stupid muffler.

the fact that there will be customizing, will scare some people

havent u seen the threads bout people who put the SOHC header and have isues w the a/c line, then all u see is: help, i dont know what to do, what happened here

all u needed is the pik that the header fits on the car
everything else u'll have to customize, big deal

I totally agree. Is "tuning" not "customizing"?

If the header design has not flex-pipe built in, then it most likely is in need a donut gasket/spring/bolts connection. You do need one or the other.

                        Cat. Conv. choices

Okay I've pretty much figured out what I'm going to do: have a 3 - 2.5 inch collector added on after the header and then a small flex pipe and then route that to a 2.5 in/out cat.

But which cat conv. should I choose or which is good quality rather:

                        Catco 2.5 in/out universal cat:
                        http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...1%7C240%3A1318

                        Magnaflow 2.5 in/out universal, but I've got 2 options:
                        http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...1%7C240%3A1318
                        OR
                        http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...1%7C240%3A1318

I know the magnaflows are a bit more expensive, but how do Catco Cats come up in terms of quality? are they just as good? if so then i can save the 10 bucks and get that.

the muffler shops wanted anywhere from 180-220 for a new cat. so Ebay is my friend for this, I'll save a shit ton there.

You should get a cutout installed in front of the cat so you can really open her up on track days.

i would do a 3 in flex at the end of that header 3 in cat then 3 inch all the way back till your muffler that way if you ever need/want to upgrade to full 3 inch everything is already there

going to a 2.5 would probably be the better choice. a 3" exhaust on a not so heavily modded is a choker. a loss of some good power. 3" belongs on a turbo. you need so much backpressure to keep the ciphon of gas going. with minor bolt on 2.25 is the size. more agressive power adders and you shouldn't exceed 2.5.

make sure you put a short little flexpipe on there, or maybe a donut gasket with spring bolts.
