Went to the track today for the first time all year since the new build and at high rpm's I had a lot of difficulty changing gears, from 1 to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd pretty much every gear. The only way I was able to get it into gear was to shift very slowly and of course this is not the best for good times at the track. I wasn't able to shift quickly because it just wouldnt get into gear. My clutch is fine. A friend of mine is thinking it might be the shift cables which havent been changed. I have a 1992 Accord making 375whp on a boosted h22a. The clutch is not slipping and the transmission shifts fine while driving it on the street, it was really just at higher rpm's. Any ideas? Thanks

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Could it be my shift cables?

I know the original owners manual mentions that the F tranny isn't built for quick shifting. You didn't mention which tranny you're using, but I know if I'm not careful with the 1-2 shift on mine when I'm flogging her, it grinds before it slips into second. (although I barely have to push the pedal at all for the rest of the shifts) That could be the issue, or your synchros could be going out.
Anyone else?

forgot to mention that it's an h22 tranny, and there's no grinding trying to get into gears, the problem is that it wont get into gear at all at higher rpm's, that's why I'm thinking its the cablesOriginally posted by visualpoet View PostI know the original owners manual mentions that the F tranny isn't built for quick shifting. never heard of "clutch drag" before, but did some research and found that this could be the problem. But again the problem only happens at higher rpm's
Definition: Drag
Clutch drag occurs when the disc attached to the clutch pedal continues to spin even after the clutch has been released.
Symptoms: Drag
Clutch drag is usually recognized by difficulty shifting gears. This may or may not be associated with a grinding sound.
Causes: Drag
Causes of clutch drag vary depending on clutch type. Generally, some common causes are problems with binding cables, pedal brackets and the master or slave cylinders.

No I have a stage 4 Bully clutchOriginally posted by Granite CB7 View PostWait a minute, don't you have an Action 2MS? OR was it 2MD? My 1MS blew apart after 18K miles, although I believe it was the fault of the Bisimoto flywheel, I was not impressed at all w/ Action from the get go.
