    260cc accel fuel injectors

i have a friend who owns a 260cc accel fuel injectors, that i want to buy from him..i just want to get second opinions from you guys.im currently building my f22a4 and run it N/A..im doing a mild set-up with the head.(delta 272 camshafts, springs, valves, retainers, exhaust port/polish,intake polish)(Dc sport header and i have it right now, the f22a6 intake manifold)

do i still need to upgrade my stock fuel pump to a 255lph walbro fuel pump after installing this 260cc accel fuel injectors?

    >oh off topic question, why does my friend's d16y8 motor is bogging out after installing hes own set of 260cc accel fuel injectors?

first of all, the stock F22 injectors are 240cc, you could up them to 260cc simply by turning up the fuel pressure.

Your stock fuel pump is more than enough.

Your friend's D16 could be bogging if its close to stock.

I would not by anything for my car made by Accel...EVER. I had a set of their spark plug wires that crapped out and almost caused a fire due to the coil wire walking out and arcing off the coil. And correct me if I am wrong, but I think F22A injectors are 235cc. With that setup, I doubt you will need bigger injectors unless you plan to turbo. I ran a similar setup minus the pnp and valve work (had the Delta cam) and it put down great numbers and my duty cycle was in decent range. If you feel that you need to bump up to bigger injectors, get some H22 injectors. They are like 325-385cc I think.

because those aren't the right injectors for a D16Y8... why doesn't he use stock honda injectors?

hey bought the accel injector from another friend, same motor d16y8..i guess he was thinking that if he swapped out he's current intake manifold to the sohc vtec intake manifold (i think its the d16y9?) it would run better..idk hahaha

D16y8 an yes the Y8 mani flows quite abit better than the y7 an the rest of the SOHC d series such as a D16z6,b7,a6,b6,b8 etc etc use the same intake mani.So the y8 mani is a good upgrade i did this swap on my built b7 an gained great throttle response over the stock intake mani especially the y7 mani.

But i'm sure the stock injectors were adequate.

H23A1 uses the same injectors as the F22A

Point blank you don't need to switch injectors unless you are running a pretty high duty cycle.

I'm fairly sure that stock f22a1 injectors are 240cc and the accels are 255cc. h22 injectors IIRC are 440cc. I have a set of 255cc in my mild build (bored .5mm, ~9.3:1 compression, A6/h22 intake, I/H/E, msd ignition). They made a slight difference but nothing all that amazing. Honestly, I mean it improved throttle response but that's about it. MPG's and performance more or less stayed the same. I think the biggest improvement came from swapping out stock injectors with 250k miles on them. You'll honestly see more improvement to your performance by taking that money (those injectors cost about $80 a piece) and buying a new ECU and getting a tune.

Stock injectors are fine up to 200whp with a adjustable fpr. I ran my stock ones at 55psi and tuned it and they idled and performed great at 170+whp.
