Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Rev Limit

Can anyone suggest a way to remove or modify the Rev limit on my Pr3 ECU Its a stock 1991 lx Accord 5 Speed ecu not too many options unless you guys know anything, My rev limit kicks in at 6500 which is ok for my current setup but I plan to port the throttle body and intake manifold with the turbo so I going to need more room in the powerband that config is going to make plenty of power upstairs after 6K, especially with the long F22 gear ratio, any Idea's (no standal one ECU's Please, the goal is budjet _

    p14 or p39 ecu,p14 needs knock sensor (h23 ecu)
    p39 w/o knock & for f22b dohc.cheapest and easiest

      Rev limit P39

What car/ Year can I get a P39 from, do you know the stock rev limit or is it just an easier ECU to find chips for?

I was always under the impression that most PT6's didn't have rev/speed limiters...but I could be wrong...I've got a PT6, but there's no way i want to test that fact....besides if you have the manifold swap...the PT6 controls the IAB

Buy my ECU. It doesn't have a rev limiter.

Yea neither does mine. Is it possible that the rev limiter can somehow break?

I took my bone stock f22a1 up to 7k once thinking I'd hit the limiter and I just didn't....WTF?

you just think that you took it up to 7k... the stock tach on the Accord in the gauge cluster is WAY off...... its really 6250 or something like that.... i dont remember the exact number.

If you run an auto ECU in a 5-Speed the rev limiter will be disabled because the rev limiter is in the TCU on Auto's (or so I think). That's the way it's been with every auto 4th gen ECU I've crossed paths with.

                  And you don't have a PR3, That's a B16 ECU. You have a PT3.

Interesting, are there any downsides to swapping in a auto ECU on a 5-speed other than possibly overreving my mistake?

I have a 91 LX and I have had the tach all the way to 8 grand and it just shuts down the motor then but the rev limiter only kicks in on mine in neutral.
