Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

you need at LEAST 10mm wires to see good power gains. in fact if you can find 12mm or 15mm those will be even better.

the wires are thicker for heat resistance, and electromagnetic interference suppression

please don't spread misleading info... stick to OEM or preferrably NGK blues and you'll b good 2 go

please don't consider plug wires as a "performance" upgrade but more as maintenance

Your stock ignition system will not perform any better with bigger wires.

15mm WTF are we talking here, a top fuel dragster or a I4 CB7 Accord? Sorry man but that's complete BS.

The OEM wires are more than enough to handle the stock coil output or any sport compact MSD or Accel coil for that matter. If you want better wires it's not the size that matters. It's the resistance per wire and the quality of the RFI/EFI insulator that you should be looking for. The Accel 8mm 300+ Thunder Sports boast 150 ohms per foot. I wasted my money on them and didn't see a lick of difference over the stock NGK's not even better gas mileage.

Using larger wires won't give you any added HP. Better gas mileage is really the only thing that your going to physically see or feel from using a bigger coil and or wires on your setup.

Unless you are running 5000hp, 16-sparkplug monster V8's....I don't think you have to be concerned with wire thicknesses.

As long as you stick with OEM spec, you should be good. But new wires sure look perti though.

Going bigger is just for looks. They did some tests and found NGK blues or oem are the best choices. I'm runnin autolight on my accord and accel on my civic. Neither are over 8mm.

X2 I see people changing wires all the time, but never really seen the point.
Oem work just fine, and upgrades (8mm,10mm) IMO are just a waste of money. I havn't seen any gains, or smoother idles (On several hondas)
Unless of course the rest of the ignition has been upgraded
