Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Auto F22a1 looking for ECU upgrade

I hear you can i can use the P12 ECU, which is off the f22a1 prelude. but what else can i do?

    chips?
    other ECU?
is a PT6 even an upgrade for my car?

Chipped is only worthwhile if you've added some serious mods, the pt6 is only worthwhile if you have the f22a6 IM.

For an f22a1 with no mods or with IHE, the p12 is going to give you the most improvement.

i do have the f22a6 runners and H series plenum, however i don't have the vacuum sensor to operate the butterfly valves. what i did with the butterfly valve vacuum was stick it somewhere in the plenum.

so can i use the PT6 or compared to the P12 is still the best?

P12 doesn't have IAB function, so NO. because the P12 is off the F22a1 in the prelude, and the ECU makes 10 more horses. The F22a1 has no IAB and no butterfly valves. -- good question.

I AM WONDERING THOUGH IS CAN A MANUAL P12 WORK FOR MY AUTOMATIC?

Go for the PT6, find the vacuum box and hook up the IABs. Plus better maps, no Speedo limit and you can always do the A6 cam swap and take full advantage of the PT6.

i've seen in all motor builds, people like to take off the butterfly valves for more power. and i'm probably going to get my camshaft a stage 1 regrind.

Them I'd say skip both aforementioned ECUs and get a chipped unit like a P06. Run uber or chome on it.

It's not the P06 that is sweet, it's the things you can do with it.

I have ran my stock motor with it, my F22B1 and now my H. You have the ability tune change the fuel and ignition maps and get a true "tune".

I run Uberdata or Crome. Depending on who does the tuning.
