    Turbo Progress

Well, I didn't get to start yesterday like I planned, damn graduation partys.lol. but me and my dad have been working on it since 8 this mornin. not sure if I am gonna let it freespin, or run some boost. well here's what been done:
    -450cc's
    -chipped ecu
-oil return line fitting installed in oil pan
    -turbo all put together
    -DSM manifold mounted
    -removed front mount

    To do:
    -mount turbo(done)
    -tap oil sender unit(done)
-get oil pressure lines to turbo(done)
    -make compressor flange
    -intercooler pipes
    -mount intercooler
    -weld BOV on pipes

    that's what's left for today/tomorrow morning.

    EDIT:
Well, this is what I finished today.
    -mounted turbo
    -ditched ac
    -oil return/feed done
    -block grinded

I'm now running a turbo, but getting no boost to the engine, lol. Ironic. I'll work on charge pipes later this week.

Question for those running/have run the 14b. looking at the top of the turbo, theres the oil plug. the on both the left and right sides of the turbo(between turbine and compressor, where the shaft is) there are two more that have holes through the bolts. what the hell are those for. me and my dad couldn't figure it out. so we plugged them with brass fittings so it won't leak.

those extra holes are for your water/coolant. you have 2 choices. you may run these lines to help keep the turbo cooler so the oil doesnt burn up and cause problems. you can hook these lines up using barbs and come hose that connects to your intake manifold for water/coolant. or your other choice is a turbo timer. I'd say run that coolant to help your turbo out

Congratulations on finally getting started on this! I know you had originally wanted to do it during spring break but obviously it was delayed till now. Don't forget to bring it over when you are done cause i want a ride! By the way, if you by chance need a visual example maybe you and Alex EX can meet up. He just got done doing basically the same thing you got done (just on his f20) and he is roughly 15-20 mins. from me.

        Good luck!

i already bought a turbo timer so I am gonna run that. hopefully, I'll be seeing boost this weekend. Tomorrow morning I am taking it down to g&s muffler and their making me a downpipe and flange, then when I get it back I have to work on mounting the intercooler(bumper is already gutted), and doing charge pipes.

Adam, of course you get a ride in it, I gotta show it off some.

alright. didnt know the 14b had a jacket. So I run one line in, and one line out of the turbo, right? I already have a turbo timer I bought a long time ago so I might try both.

                    Update as of Tuesday.

Turbo on. screen on the turbo. Still no boost yet. Haven't hooked up charge pipes/intercooler yet, that will be done weds. downpipe made and on, it's only a 2 in, I'll upgrade later. It only costed $50, so I'm happy. Man, when I step on it, you can here that turbo sucking. lol. awesome. Can't wait to have boost though

oh yeah, fixed oil line. before the line was resting against manifold, not good. Had to buy a 1/8 in elbow and use that and a straight connector to get it away from manifold. had to modify the elbow to. but all works. got parts from home depot for $3.

got any pics yet? I think that is the ultimate way to roll sounds like a turbo but is still slow!? might be fun for a while but arent you goin to filter that inlet on your turbo? they should be or else shit gets in there and wrecks your day!
                          just my opinion!

actually, on accords, if you use the dsm setup, the turbo sets high enough where nothing can get in it. but that's why he has a screen on the inlet

yeah, I have a silicone coupler coming off the turbo with a piece of screen from my porch. haha. but I am soo lazy, and this weekend has been to crazy/chatoic for me to touch my car. MRX is right down the street, and I don't have the time to go see him. it sucks. But looks like turbo will all be done next weekend. And no, no pics, no digi. maybe when I am done adam(h23accord) will take some pics for me. I'll keep you guys updated.
