Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

damn. 2 days and already something is majorly wrong. Here's the riddle, never ran the car past 4K, never saw more then 4 psi, engine bay is oven hot, running two step colder plugs gapped .28-.29, running chipped ecu on rich and really retarded timing. After running it for about 15 min, I stop and begin to pull into a parking lot, halfway into the turn car stalls(may have been my fault, not sure). Now car wont start. Who knows what's wrong? My guess was flooded engine or fouled plugs. My dads is timing belt jumped. Car won't turn over.

that sucks dude, when you say it won't turn over, do you mean the engine won't rotote when you try to start it? or just turns over and over. i dout that it is flooded scince it is fuel injected. to see if the timming belt is gone, take off the dizzy cap and try to start it, if the rotor doesn't spin the belt is broken. later.

Just switched to ngk 2 step colder plugs, 7f I think, gapped .28-.29.
that map will be TOO rich probably. i assumed you would be tuning as soon as you turn it on...vac first then boost...

your map should run fine. I ran it for about a month when I wasn't turbo'd. I planned on running it yesterday night and this morning and putting a wideband in tonight. Plan worked, except I didn't even get to make it to the wideband part.

I pulled the plugs and the tips are white, so running lean... And my other guess is timing belt because it turns over and over. All help greatly appreciated.

wouldn't make a difference if it's fuel injected. I've flooded this engine before.

you got problems because you tried to turn the engine over with a possible broken timing belt. Check compression...coulda bent some valves. I hope its something else tho.

when it jumps timing the valves dont know when to come up and the pistons will meet with them colliding with them head on and you dont want that

Yeah could be timing belt, doesnt mean he wrecked anything! I jumped my timing belt on my talon and had it snap before and it never wrecked anything! Once the center of the T-belt was wore right out due to a little pin rubbing the belt, another time was because some dumb guy put a long bolt in a short bolt hole of the t-belt cover and that wore the side!--- My cb7 f22a1(s) lost compression, and so when the oil was warm it would die and wouldnt start until it cooled down!! So I bought a 85 escort! LOL! Ive got an f22a4 now! Will rebuild turbo before put it on!

verdict in- it's the distributor. not fixed yet though, they kept ordering the wrong distributor. Tomorrow morning I'm gonna tell the to order a h23 and a f22a1 distributor. one of those should work. And the timing belt thing, my dad works on v8s, so of course it's not the same as a i4, but when I timing belt snaps, usually it backfires a bit.

this is bad. They don't know what distributor to use. I told them to use h23 and convert it, but there having trouble with it. Anyone know what distributor to use?
