Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

i have to agree with Wikked, you dont have to deal with emptying your PM box every 2-3 weeks or less, or getting a million emails every day about turbo problems, and worst of all, the endless streem of IMs. there is a point where it feels like it stops becomming the "boosters" problem, and more like my problem.

DO NOT get me wrong. i love to help as many people as I can, and there have been many a nights iv stayed up to 2 and 3am just trying to help people through something. but when i get asked the same questions over and over and i can find the answers in a matter of seconds, i do get a bit annoyed at people's lazyness. If its a true genuine trouble or concern ill talk to you through it all day long. but if I feel its "common knowledge" or can easily be found. dont be surprised if i blow you off somewhat

yeah i could prolly imagine how annoying that bull can be. id prolly say your best bet is to make a thread with the must know things... but thats even a waste of time. if people cant search ... itd be piontless anyways...

i see this is one of those never ending debates. because really? they are always gonna be noobs that go "huh? what was that? howd you do that?" and expect to be force feed the answer or the impatient ones that just dont wanna look over things and figure out how they work.

"Before you make it work, you gotta learn how it works..."

i think we should make a sticky for all the damn quotes everyone shot out on this thread. lol

i agree there are lots of noobs out there and i am one of them when it comes to this whole tuning process! i have never actually got to try to tune my cars af's but will soon be learning that hands on. i think it would be eaiser for some noobs if there was a sticky made on how to learn how to use programs such as uber even though there is pleanty on the uber forums i think we should link a few of the threads on uber that tells on how to use the program itself, and no matter what happens there will always be some stupid questions asked by someone, if you feel like answering do it if u don't just leave it alone. But for some ppl to learn they are going to have to ask stupid questions. We all have to learn somhow, just are better than others.

im tired i hope what i typed makes sense. zzzzzzzzz......

Well see theres my problem. Ppl asking on basics of how to use uber...lemme ask those of you who would ask that very same question. Do you even have uberdata downloaded? Have you even remotely attempted to open the program? Most have not, therefore they won't get my help...and if they do...it'll cost'em

I don't know what everyone else is doing, but I've been going through my turbo planning a lot differently. I read everything about tuning and the stuff I didn't know about before I bought any sort of part. I have like 2 different versions of uberdata downloaded. I bought my own chipping kit too since it's so freaking easy. The good thing about all the idiots that don't know what they are doing and try a dsm swap is that all their engines will be blown soon so the fad will die off.

Shit I hit the "Post Reply" button for this one.. I know I'm not posting enough on here to speak with any authority but here's my two cents.

Number one, I don't think that Wikked simply started this thread so people would quit hassling MRX or R33. If you've read some of CPMike's posts or i think it's his signature, it's all about being the pioneer. The people who have taken their steps ahead of us I'm sure would love to see people boost their cars or go N/A(like 2point6) to an extent, the problem is these people don't do enough research. Like everyone else said each situation is different, as a result you'll get a basemap to tune to your needed specs. You never know. All of this is being said simply for one thing: To bring evolution to the CB7/F22 tuning scene. Right now it seems like R33, Wikked and MRX are the leaders in the scene right now, and if everyone follows them, our progress will be slowed down simply on what they do. It's not about "Leaving them alone and do it your own fucking self" put as harsh as can be, but more like "Try that and let us know what happens".

I know that all three of them don't mind you asking questions, hell I hassle Wikked almost every day about my plans but I also try to back up what I ask him with research I've done through manuals, the internet, and other people. The thing about what I've done differently is, say, I don't look at a setup and say, oh thats what I want because of his results, but more like, what if I take this, this, and this, and swap it with that, and what happens there? So maybe I'll ask wikked for his opinion, and after he bitches me out he usually tells me what's good, well... usually after he tells me to do the F22B franky.

And regarding tuning, I'm actually planning on buying all the shit myself, because like Wikked, I plan on driving my car to school and back everyday and I can't rely on sending a chip to someone and waiting for it to come back, I don't have that kind of time. Have I downloaded Uberdata? Damn right! Have I played with it? Yep! Do I understand it? A little, I've looked around the uberdata forums myself to see what things are for.

I belive my only problem with messing with my car is simply living in an apartment. You know when I get my wagon bumper? Yeah it rained that night and I went to the local carwash [where you drive in, get out, put quarters in, etc..], pulled out my tools and put it on myself.

As far as me, myself going with the "DSM" trend, I'll admit that I'm going to follow it, I just don't think some of you should think that cheaping out on the setup will mean I'll cheap out on the tuning.

My setup? Me and Wikked discussed this and we both decided that it'll be so much better to buy a seperate block and work on that, and it works since I need a 5 speed tranny. I've done extensive research and after I get all the part I need to put out what I plan on putting out, I'm going to share with everyone what I DID(and Carlos).

When it all boils down to it, I simply want CB7's to be matched up with the scene as civics, that's all I really want.

but when he made this thread i dont think it was meant to have a bunch of ppl come out and say hey look at me i did this, this AND this so im not the target of this thread. there should def be sticky Q&A made becuase alot of question can be pasted in there along with answers as well as new ones coming every day. eric and mrx can just simply paste theri pm convos in there lol.
