Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    bye bye F20A

Been having a few problems lately, namely oil being sucked through the turbo at idle causing excessive smoke out exhaust.
So I disconnected the SU carb, and charge pipes and refitted the original honda carb. It felt really gutless with standard carb.
Drove it into work today, and carried out a compression check, Results as follows: (should be around 175 psi)
    #1 - 90 psi
    #2 - 125 psi
    #3 - 130 psi
    #4 - 70 psi

So as you can see . . . bye bye engine, sorry guys I really wouldve liked to have had it fully up and running, so you could see some results.

Have just brought a 1992 Accord EXi. Still waiting to go pick it up. Not sure wether I will boost it or not, probably wait a while and get one with a bit less kms, The one I've brought has 240,000kms on it, so I would say its a bit tired for boost.

Damn dude......sorry to hear the engine has gone.
Normally the F20A2/3 shortblocks can handle alot of abuse.
The F20/H23 frankenstein we built still survives on 11 PSI.
My F20 is still in progress.... I drove it around a few times and boost feels so good......
I just need to hook up my ext fuelpump and FPR.
Otherwise it runs out of fuel fast.
Let's hope your next project turns out better.

My Accord has 200000 kms under its belt.

what power gain did you get from N/A as compared to Boost HP..did you get it dynoed??? to see what you was running on BOTH N/A and boost??

I would REALLY like to know!!

92 LX. A6 with GUDE bullfrog Cam. M2S4 transmission..Gutted H23 intake mani. The rest you will just have to find out!

Well we didn't dyno it N/A.
It went straight in with the turbokit.
It was already on the H23 engine that was in the car.
Our "customer" dyno'd it with 9 PSI and only tuned with SAFC.
It made 256 hp.. torque numbers i don't know.
He already put around 15000 kms on it now.

Well I decided to pull out #4 piston today. I expected a broken ringland, but not 2 ringlands on the same piston!!
Damn these hondas, I'm so amazed at how they still run with problems like that!!

the main reason why itll still run was because the other pistons was holding you down for the time being. If the others where done like that it would hold no compression no pressure no start. all air escapes no go.

what kind of tuning were you doing on a carb setup?

None really, Its more a case of, add more fuel, take it away, adjust timing, till you get the best result, with no detonation. Its not like you can use a plug in computer to change a/r ratios and timing. Its either perfect down low and lean up top or vice versa.
There are ways around it, like using a carb with secondaries, so when you come on boost it adds more fuel and air, to maintain correct a/r's. Or even a fuel injector in the intake which comes on during boost, But that option means two fuel systems, and a computer to control the duty cycle.

Didn't you have an A/F Gauge?
That's the minimum i'm using now for my car.
Also i set my ignition to 6 degrees @ idle.
                            No knock sofar......
First i need to get my fuel setup sorted out.
Also i have to redo my intercooler coolant lines.....
It's not cooling very good now.......

No I diddnt have an a/f gauge
I had my ignition set to 5 degrees @ idle.
Yea I had knock, but I think the biggest cause of that was the turbo temps and running no intercooler.
Its getting the F20A5 block and my head put in next week, so it should be running again by next weekend
