Wondering where everyone got their intercooler piping from. I was lookin at the ebay ones and was wondering if they were any good. Of course you have to modify but what kit is perfect with so many different set ups. And of course i was lookin at the one with t-clamps and what not. Tell me whats up guys.

some run exhaust piping, others run ebay piping. its pipes. plus why would you want to pay alot for pipes?Originally posted by chrischhornWondering where everyone got their intercooler piping from. moved onto volvos. dont know how that happened, just did

well im gonna run the stock 8 psi on a 14b turbo and i just figured that the intercooler piping would be a little better but if exhaust piping works i might just use that. I dont think the slight weight difference in the pipes will make a difference right? But will exhaust piping get hotter then true intercooler piping?
also should i only need 1 of the ebay kits? obviously if i screw up yes but if i can pretty much get it right the first time?Last edited by chrischhorn; 02-25-2008, 09:06 PM.

I purchased a 2.0" intercooler piping kit from CXracing. They sell their kits on ebay.
Price is a bit high for a bunch of pipes but I am very safisfied with their customer service.
I got 8 pipes; 2 of them are straight, others are various bends, LOTS of couplers and clamps. $100 shipped. You also pick the color of the couplers and can choose 2.0", 2.25", 2.5", and i think 3.0" diameter.
I talked to a DSM guy in my engine performace class who is very knowledgeable and he suggested I use 2.0" diameter on the Accord. So that is what I got. No need for big diameter unless you are planning on putting down BIG horsepower numbers with a big turbo.
It seems like there is enough piping in the kit to do a FMIC set-up if you don't waste anything.
I did get some 2.5" piping though that I will use on the turbo inlet side.

Well my intercooler piping was 2.5 all around with the inlet and outlet its basically good up to 400whp. Btw I made my own at the pipingshop that was at shea stadium where they have the exhaust shops and whatnot.
Make sure that when you get the t-bolt clamps that you bead just before the ends of the pipe itself. 1 on each side of the pipe so that the pressure doesnt blow the coupler off if it where to slip off due to pressure and with the t-clamps holding just for good measure.

I used the same link as ^ then welded it up

Good site. I still have pipe left over. Just put a clear coat over it or paint it to protect it from rust

good customer service tho...those guys hooked me up!
i know what you mean about the black 90 degree couplers. a couple people said cxracing was good so i bought from them also. Not a bad price and the blue 90's will stick out in my set up too. I bought the kit with the t clamps so i should be set and not have to worry about them blowing off.
Thanks everyone for your input and all my parts should start comin in starting with the turbo and manifold today!!
ill make a build thread so keep an eye out. All my stuff except for my clutch should be here friday.

yeah a majority of them are just for show. I use exhaust aluminum piping.Originally posted by straightedgeI used the ebay pipes when I first turbo'd with the 16g. The couplers were junk and I blew them off regularly at 9psi. With some quality silicone couplers and t-bolts that should be a non-issue.

I just brought 45/90 degree bends of 2.5" pipe as I needed it, and welded it all together. I run about 40cm of 2" from turbo outlet (for fitment reasons) , then all the rest is 2.5"
