    thumping while turning

when i turn left and when im going straight sometimes i hear/feel thumping. when i turn right i dont feel it. i had all my suspension components checked in the beginning of december and the only thing that was bad was my sway bar bushings and motor mounts. could this cause a thumping feeling and only from one side? upper control arms were just replaced. struts arent in horrible condition and the springs are new. ball joints were fine. only things that were not in good condition were the bushings(which are non existent basically) and the motor mounts. i am on 20mm spacers in the front and rear on prelude sawblade rims. tires are brand new and just had an alignment and tires were balanced. any input would be awesome. thanks.

Sounds like it could be a CV joint gone bad. Drivers side.

One thing that some technicians may over look is the radius arm bushings in the front. They are made of rubber and disintegrate over time. They are part of your front lower control arm assembley and attach to the front sub frame.(the big bushings) If they look like they are falling apart or the arm is loose in any way they are bad. They will definately cause the issue you describe. Since the obvious stuff has been checked I figured this would be the next best place to start.

ill definitely have to check that out. i appreciate your response. im gonna take a look at all of it tomorrow. the spring, strut and lower and upper control arms ball joints and tie rods are all checked off. its either the axle(which i doubt), bearing or some type of bushing. im hoping its either one of the things i described(sway bar bushing) which i doubt or the motor mounts which could definitely be a possibility or one of those bushings. im hoping its not the axle or bearing but i need to make sure to fix whatever it is if its serious before saturday because i have a 400 mile trip back to north carolina.

Ive been getting a "thumping"/"knock" sound from my DD accord. I checked everything nt he suspension and its not an axle sound. I'm beginning to think its a wheel bearing.

5 Lug might get stepped up.

thats what im leaning towards. the wheel bearing is cheaper to replace too.

Most times a mechanic should find a wheel bearing when testing/looking for a worn or loose suspension part, ball joint, tie rod or strut mount. You use pretty much the same technique to find them. A drive shaft however isn't that easy to diagnose. You usually have to take it for a drive and if it thumps only during turning it is usually a CV joint. That's how we used to do it anyway.

Ether way, hope you get it fixed with as little pain in the wallet as possible.

well it was a free fix, my spacers were causing a little rub on my upper control arm causing the thumping feeling. must be cause my fat tires and leaking strut.
