That's been debated a lot before on here.

The consensus is the high end parts by companies like Do Luck are really good, but those are mainly show pieces.

too bad it's not made by do luck... or any other company with a reputable name for that matter. never heard of:

S Spec JDM Unite Floor bar
in any event, it's a floor stabilizer bar. the only accords i have seen them in have not been in cars of people who autocross... though aero3685 was thinking of getting one, i don't think that he ever did.

old thread about them here: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...light=floorbar

at worst, it's a piece of metal in your car.
at best, it stiffens up the middle of the chassis tremendously...
reality is that it's probably somewhere in between, more towards the worse end.

without suspension upgrades in the rear (sway bar, upper strut, lowering springs) or front (sway bar, upper strut, lowering springs), the effects will probably be comparitively minimal.

So if i wanted to auto cross my accord those should help like tower bars do?

            no...

if i were to across, this would be the last suspension component i would be thinking about. the other parts of the chassis need much more work then the middle of the car.

as i said before, i don't know anyone who autocrosses with an accord that has this. that's not to say that no one with an accord uses this, but it's not common, and it's relatively cheap (costs less than a set of swaybars). which begs the question, is it really necessary? i don't think so, because if it were, i'd think that more people would use it.

hopefully aero3685 will chime in with his thoughts on it, as he autocrosses with his car.

checking on accordinglydone.com, there's only 2 threads about the floor bar. this one is pretty good, as far as what you may/may not expect with it, and why it may/may not be a good purchase:

i've got a similar set up, swap sports for race, and take out the front lower tie... and h23accord has a similar set up as you minus the lower tie bars... i'm not convinced, from what i've seen/read so far, that this piece would add a considerable amount of stiffness/rigidity, especially since that part of the car (the middle of the chassis) has the least amount of flexibility.

if our cars were rwd, it'd be a different story, as flexing in the mid chassis occurs in rwd from the energy transferrred from the engine through the drive shaft in the middle of the car, to the rear wheels... that's a non issue in a fwd car.

good points el, but i am wiling to try it i mean its only 25 bucks and well i am a suspension freak. so yea i mean i thin it has the same effect as the rear upper upper tie bar that some ek's have(the ones that connect to the seatbelt bolts and they are across the back window... im sure you have seen those. but like i said 25bucks to try something out..i mean can it really hurt my suspension performance.....

if u put it in the trunk it wont stiffen the mid-chasis of the car

got mine in about a month ago and i just threw it in and didnt look behind the carpet. the bar ends sit flush right up against a few big wire looms. while installing this u need to move the wire looms to the top of the bar or underneath it so the bar sits flush against the metal of the chasis.

i hear alot of mix reviews on this product, i have this floor bar, bought it off ebay. the real AROSPEED, i guess they stop making it. its thick ass hell, a pain in the ass to put in. it does work. i did notice a difference when i took out my car afterwards. its very stiff. it makes the car alot more fun to drive. i do have every suspension part (except for a front lower bar). my car handles very well. perfect for me. i did autocross at honda day back in aug 8. took it there the way i drive it everyday. didnt adjust anything and it felt good. yes i did autocross with those 18s on . the floor bar does work. it stiffs the chassis alot. if you do get this product dont get that cheap as one. get arospeed. the main thing that you want to do is drive your car and see how you like it, then start buying whatever you want to make it comfortable for you
