Jay, for your budget, F22 is the way to go. The H22 is great, but as I learned, boosting it is a VERY expensive project. 200hp is nice, but I want more. I'm sick of getting my added power in 2-3hp increments via boltons. I also don't want to spend $800 for a set of cams that will allow 20hp tops with $200+ of good dyno tuning! Boost is the way to go, just with a stronger engine. The H22, built reliably, will cost about $10,000 to boost and make any reasonable power.
The F22 would cost far less and be able to make decent power. If you can find the engne for $500, and build a turbo kit for $1500, you're already getting it cheaper than an H22 from HMO!
Turbo cars DO have their issues, and you are going to have to pay closer attention to the engine/turbo than you would with a straight H22 swap... However, I don't think you'll have any problems. I, for one, will need to change my lazy ways when I boost, or I'll have problems! I change my oil on time... that's my maintenance schedule. I rarely open my hood for anything else, even to check things.

)anyways, these guys at work say 8 psi of boost is a lot! I dunno..I mean, tony has 7-1 compression pistons in his turboed civic, and he blew it at 35 psi..(don't ask) but even at 10.1-1 (is this the f22 block..lemme know) it does'nt seem lik 8 psi is reliable..am I wrong? Also, y is every boosted f22 blowing these days? I am still torn on what to do..h22, or boost..I LOVE the sound of boost, but understand that I am a kid, who is saving for racing school and college, but more importantly, has parents who think he has invested too much money into his car..now, I could pass off an h22a better then boost, since I have off-and-on issues wit my oil..It likes drinking and whatnot..a lot. I fixed the problem, wit replaced gaskets, but I could always tell them its a bad ring on the piston, and not worth the money to fix, instead of replacing the motor..I cannot think of an excuse on the same line to get a turbo setup. I wish there was a way.. Iwant a boost gauge, and that sound SOOO bad..but, I want a RELIABLE setup too..Also, what must I do to beat this tony kid at work, wit his civic hb, swapped wit a b18, cams, I/H/E, 9:1 compression pistons, and whatnot..he says it is at around 220 hp to the wheels..What must I do to shut him up, and stop everyone at work from thinking he has the coolest, fastest car..it's my turn at the title..
