what year is it for...i think i have my old one.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Make sure you buy the right one and it is in good condition. Airbag components are always gonna be overpriced. Make sure when you install you center it properly or you risk screwing it up.

                  Wow you working around airbags.

50$ says you accidently detonate it.

Id let a shop handle this as i feel you are not capable of doing this.

I just had to replace one of those in a dodge caravan at my work. clock springs should be bought from the dealer man. i think for the caravan it was about $150. it's not too too bad to replace. but make sure you disconnect your battery fully. the last thing you want to do is get shot in the chest with your air bag.

                    good luck man.

yeah there's this short protection switch underneath the steering wheel, its a RED colored switch...you're supposed to unplug you battery first, fully disconnect....first neg, then pos., then you remove that panel on the bottom of the steering wheel to access the short protection switch. Basically, unplug the airbag and plug it into the red connector, that's a safety measure that doesn't deploy the airbag.

I just swapped steering wheels today from one from the JY b/c my vinyl covering on the wheel was unglued and was "loose" idk how else to describe it, so I found one w/ the vinyl still "glued" to the metal rim and swapped that one on there.

As long as the batt. is unplugged, you should be fine.
