around here emmission are pretty tight, when i go to get a sticker i dont think a cai would pass,do the ebay cai's come with that "carb legal" sticker? if not are you able to purchase them?lol.thanks.

i'm not wasting money on a tube with a special name bro...sorry. intakes an intake its the filter that matters. anyone know if they come with the sticker? i hate ebay just as much as the next guy, but i'm sure a ebay cai with a k&N filter performs just as good as a aem with a k&n not much difference because all it is is thin alumninum tubing.anyway if anyone knows let me know thanks.

No, the reason you pay what you do for AEM, Iceman and the other intakes is because they are carb legal. Yeah, they all filter the same and whatnot, but the cheap ones wont pass emissions. As far as getting a sticker.. Im sure you could try to find someone that would sell you one, good luck though as I am sure that is illegal.

so explain how aem is legal? your not making sense man,its a pipe. thats it. why would aem be carb legal and not a generic one? explain and detail and i'll believe until then its a fucking pipe with a filter.

i dunno, but i felt that the aem intakes seemed a bit lighter than the ebay ones. the airfilter is a bit different as well. the sticker thing is another story, like what was mentioned, aem paid to get that sticker, so it would be no hassle if someone questioned it.

also aem intakes seem to have a coating which makes them cooler ors omething? but i dunno, my friend has a Ebay short ram, and it seems to be turning ugly.. the polish one..

i passed my emissions test (wouldve failed the 25mph CA test since was in 2nd gear and tested before tune up with exhaust leaks) with an ebay cai and the generic filter that came with it. i plan to get a k&n soon though.

have had it on for over a month now and it still looks the same as when i got it. i guess it just depends where you get the intake from.

for the most part, intakes are intakes. the filter is what really matters so a GOOD ebay intake with a k&N should be fine. and most should not make you fail emmisions as the extra oxygen taken in allows the gas to burn more efficiently. its the exhausts that tend to fail you as the reduction in back pressure does not let the cat work properly. and in that case the CARB legal hi flow cats are worth the extra money for.

I also passed emmisions with an "ebay" intake, but i notced the filter on it says k&n.

3 years on mass emissions withe an el cheapo cai. Never an issue, hell this year I passed with hyperwhite turn signals and green reverse lights.

Sure enough, I passed the TX emissions test with an El Cheapo CAI and generic filter. They said that the only cone filter that could be used was a K&N, but as long as its a red filter they don't care.

i know i have lived hereall my life, its just that sometimes if you go to a shday shop around here, theres people that do emmisssions that love the american v8'sand there kinda like "oh boy i'll fail this ricer" so they bust your balls. i just wanted to see if anyone passed with one around here and accordwarrior answerd that.thanks.
