Umm, I don't know about that working. But who knows? Yes, I do believe that our accords have governors even though I have heard of the pt6 (EX) did not. I know the other trims do, lx dx. And about that auction that says 8200 rpm redline, I don't know about that. Bs.Last edited by Smiley_cb7; 09-14-2004, 10:26 PM.

A PT6 is the ECU for the F22a6 engine which is in 91 and 93 SE...as well as 92-93 EX.
I have a PT3 ECU in my F22a4 and I've been to 120 mph no prob. I have a manual trans.
A 8200 redline won't do you crap anyhow. You have to make power up for it to be worth it and our F22s are not high revving engines compared to other Honda engines. We have a 95mm stroke and stroke/rod ratio of 1.49

You get max torque and hp at 4-5k in the F22s. 8500rpm is just asking to throw a rod.
Instead of buying the 'mugen' chip for $20, shipping, pulling the ECU apart, and soldering the new chip in, it'd probably be faster and cheaper to go to a local auto salvage yard and get an entire ECU out of an SE or EX.Former: 90 Accord EX Coupe, 93 10th Anniversary in Frost White

Don't all the wagons have the PT6 too since all the wagons had the A6.
You can put the PT6 in a LX, I have one in mine. However, the main point of running the PT6 is getting the ability to run the dual runner intake manifold if you have the swap. However, I did notice a very very very slight difference in the car with just the PT6. It seemed to lag a little less, and a little more pull in the higher RPM's. I think that's just due to the different fuel curves in the F22a6 vs. the F22a1. I could be wrong.
I believe ztech said that he noticed an improvement with his PT6.

I can actually atest to that...
I have a fully swapped A6 in my car and its an LX.
The original Ecu I had limited me to 115 mph. Now with the Pt6 I can feel the dual intake kick in at around 60 mph. Cars alot faster..and I can actually run the car past 120mph.Henry R

first off the "mugen chip" cant be real nothing from mugen costs 20 bucks no way and second even if that chip was real it wouldnt raise the rev limit of your engine it might change the rpm that the rev limiter kicks in at but honda put the red section on our tachometers and the rev limiters on the car for a reason the stock internals cant handle the motor spinning that fast if you had the engine balanced and built up the internals then yeah but that whoever is selling that chip is just trying to make some money of something he pulled out of a computer
