    Rear Engine mount question...

Okay i found a Excellent cond. Rear honda mount at the JY, but am wondering, since Im automatic and staying auto for my swap. Could I use this Solid rear mount instead of my vacuum operated one? Would it cause any fitment issues at all if I used the solid vs. vacuum one?

    ^^^Vacuum one currently on car

^^^Vacuum on left, Solid on right....they look like they mount up the same.

^^engine mount over the solid mount...looks like it'll fit but not sure.

Did you have to worry about the gap in the last pic though? when I put the mount bracket over the mount there's a slight gap between the two....Will that go away once the bolt is tightened up snug?

        ^^that space between...is what I'm worried about.

That mount will work, not sure why the sleeve is alittle shorter though. Basically, the USDM's came w/ 3 possible mounts: Auto, EX 5spd (the other mount you have, no vacuum, fluid filled), and DX/LX 5spd (mount is all rubber, best for filling/modding w/ poly, construction like other 3 mounts). And there are 2 rear motor mount brackets, tall and short, tall is for auto and EX 5 spd, short is for DX/LX 5 spd. The rear crossmember is set up for both styles of mounts, Auto/EX and DX/LX, pairing the proper mount and bracket is needed.

For overall simplicity, the DX/LX is the best, that's what I converted to (93 EX 5spd) and it is to modify. That mount you have will work fine aswell, but the DX/LX is the best and simplest design, it's also much smaller, making it easier to change.

The DX/LX manual mount and bracket conversion can be applied on automatics as well rite....? Tired of vibration, and sloppy shifting outta the F22b...

Doing the DX/LX swap on an automatic will actually increase vibration over the automatic vacuum controlled mount.
