    Power Door Locks Dont Work

Well i have had this problem ever since i got the car, more than 2.5 years ago, it is a 1990 accord lx, and my power door locks have never worked. When you puch the button you can hear the click from the actuator in the drivers door, but the doors dont lock, i have checked all of the wiring in all of the doors, and everything is hooked up fine, could somebody tell me if there is a control unit or something i should check???

Replace the control unit, which is a grey box in the driver's door. Take off the trim panel and you will see it, it is held in by 2 screws.

Well i took the door panel off, and took out the control unit, and took apart the plastic housing, and pulled the circuit board out. I reflowed the solder on all of the joints and then put the control unit back together. I was expecting this not to work, but i knew there was a chance it might because i did find that one of the solder joints was a little cracked. Well i installed it in my car, and voila... It Worked.

Did you not check the DIY?, I have made one for this problem. Its just 1 or 2 solder joints that need to be fixed.

Check the solder joints that hold the white relays in place and the connector.
Most likey it will be 1 or 2 solder joints that need repair.

Trust me, it will work, this type of electrical problem will show itself due to the vehicle's age.

I have a similar problem on my 92 LX. I have to hit the door lock switch several times before the door locks actually flip over to the "locked" position. Every time I hit the switch, it moves about 1/2 inch. So basically hitting the switch about 6 times finally works.........but will re-soldering solve my problem too?

On my car, all locks work fine except the front passenger side lock. It's a 4dr. I can tell its moving and tries to go down, but it doesnt. Any help?

Its probably the door lock actuator or the switch. In either case, the door panel needs to be removed to verify the problem. Do you mean the other locks work fine when pressing it from the passenger side?

All the locks work fine from both switches, except the passenger side.

Then its the passenger door lock solenod.

                            Look at this:

Ok, so as I'm understanding it, if there's a door lock failure on all doors then try the control unit in the driver's door, if not on all doors it could be the actuator or solenoid then right?
