Well i have had this problem ever since i got the car, more than 2.5 years ago, it is a 1990 accord lx, and my power door locks have never worked. When you puch the button you can hear the click from the actuator in the drivers door, but the doors dont lock, i have checked all of the wiring in all of the doors, and everything is hooked up fine, could somebody tell me if there is a control unit or something i should check???

Well i took the door panel off, and took out the control unit, and took apart the plastic housing, and pulled the circuit board out. I reflowed the solder on all of the joints and then put the control unit back together. I was expecting this not to work, but i knew there was a chance it might because i did find that one of the solder joints was a little cracked. Well i installed it in my car, and voila... It Worked.

Check the solder joints that hold the white relays in place and the connector.
Most likey it will be 1 or 2 solder joints that need repair.
Trust me, it will work, this type of electrical problem will show itself due to the vehicle's age.

I have a similar problem on my 92 LX. I have to hit the door lock switch several times before the door locks actually flip over to the "locked" position. Every time I hit the switch, it moves about 1/2 inch. So basically hitting the switch about 6 times finally works.........but will re-soldering solve my problem too?1992 Accord Coupe 5-Speed

Ok, so as I'm understanding it, if there's a door lock failure on all doors then try the control unit in the driver's door, if not on all doors it could be the actuator or solenoid then right?'92 Accord LX Sedan--Bordeaux Red Pearl --OEM--279k Daily Driver
