I hope I don't end up dragging a buddy out in the cold to help, it's bad enough that I'm out there. lol

I shouldn't have to with the one man bleeder kit; I haven't had to before when I did a hydraulic clutch or brakes, but I may give it a try. Or make a buddy come pump the pedal for me while I just do it the old school way.
That is exactly the same problem we were having with the Jerk. After Jake replaced the clutch, everything worked fine.

If you need help, let me know... I have a whole lotta free time.

Jon - do you have or have access to an air compressor and a airblast nozzle?

If so you can do what I did: pressure bleed. Takes literally 10 seconds to do. Get a pickle jar or similar jar with a lid, and some vac hose. Drill two holes in the lid of the jar just slightly smaller than the OD of the hose. Cut about 3 feet of hose and insert the hose far enough into the lid to reach the bottom of the jar. Cut about 6 inches of hose and just barely insert it an inch into the other hole. Fill the jar with fluid. Hook up the nozzle of the air blaster to the short piece of hose and hook the long piece of hose up to the bleeder valve of the slave cylinder. Remove all of the fluid in the master cylinder reservoir with your vac bleeder then give the pressure bleeder a blast of air for a few seconds. Do it a bit at a time until you see fluid come up into the reservoir.
This might happen. I've also been told that I can pressure bleed it from the reservoir ed by disconnecting the fill hose from the reservoitr and using a large syringe to force fluid down through the system until it stops spitting air.

You shut your dirty mouth! We do not say replace and clutch in the same sentenece when it's this cold out! I'm pretty sure it's not the clutch needing replaced, she was fine less than 12 hours before, but I might holler for an extra hand, I forgot you're not that far away from me anymore. Still off 33 & 270, more or less, right?

I'd like to say thank you for all the advice and tips. This bitch is going to be up soon. I need something dependable in case the Audi gets bitchy on the wife away from home!

Okay, thanks to a newbie (Monza) I've got some pressure back in the pedal, it's still soft, and the cold and alarm have drained the battery while she sat, so as soon as I find my jumper cables We'll see what's up. I've been told that the aftermarket parts could make the clutch softer than the OEM, and when the engine cranked over, she didn't lunge, so it's definitely disengaging. Everybody say a prayer, cross your fingers, sacrifice a small animal to the car gods...

Dont say that or another member will hit a deer, bringing the deer/cb kill count up to approximately 804,882 in the past 12 months.

          good luck

Small deer up there in New England, huh? Down here they go about 150 lbs and up. I was thinking nothing bigger than a raccoon.

Hey man I can vouch with you on this. I have the Auto Zone Master and Slave cylinder and my clutch has always felt super soft. Even with a heavy duty clutch and pressure plate.
