The tranny ground is sort of near the dipstick if you have an auto. I can post a pic of my setup as well. It's been about 1 1/2 years since I did it though so the silver (clear) wrapping has kind of turned yellow from the heat on some of the wires. Works great though!

I used a L shaped bracket to bolt down the ground wires to the battery negative terminal. I sanded down any grounding points that weren't clean (shiny metal) and zip tied loose wires so it won't move around (and touch hot parts) or get caught on anything.

        The connections I made are:
        BP(battery post)-tranny
BP-chassis(the passenger side inner fender, left side middle pic#1)
        BP-valve cover (two)
BP-intake manifold (under the throttle cable)
DSMM (drivers side motor mount)-valve cover
        DSMM-PS Pump bracket
alternator-intake manifold (shown in pic 3,4,5 zipped tied to oem alt cables)

It definetly does what it's supposed to. I used good parts so I consider it done right as well (so I don't think it could have been improved much more). Smoother idling, brighter lights, etc. My stock grounds were pretty bad (like the main ground to the tranny was corroded and half frayed apart). Power wise, I'm not sure. If felt a bit better but mostly due to the smoother revs which I guess come from a more efficient electrical system. Maybe it's sparking better. It's not something I'd recommend spending $100 on but it's definatley worth going out and doing it yourself for $30 or whatever it cost me.

YK86, did you remove the stock grounds, or did you just put the newer wires on top of them?

It's not a good idea to remove the stock grounds...I wouldn't recommend it. A good idea would be to clean the stock grounds, and than place the grounding kit wire over it.

im not an electrician but im just curious as to why? i know some parts can't be made exactly to replace the stock stuff but why? does that mean we are just wasting time grounding?

please educate.. i was thinking of replacing certain stock ones that are really corodded, the regular ones that are okay, i was gonna maybe clean it up, sand it a bit or something..

                    thanks..

I kept the grounds that are connected to the stock battery negative terminal (you can still see the tranny ground in one of my pics). I threw out everything else since I was grounding the same points with better wires/ends plus grounding extra spots so I didn't think it would be a problem throwing out one or 2 dinky little wires.

i finished putting in my grounding wires with 4awg wires. i didn't notice too much of a difference, but what i did notice was slightly brighter headlights (and i really mean SLIGHTLY... i could even be mistaken and they aren't brighter at all) and smoother shifting when accelerating quickly from slowing down. i don't feel much of a gain in response. i will take a pic of how i did it and maybe you guys who have it can tell me if i did something wrong. i'm not feeling too much from what i have done

This is one of those mods where you aren't going to feel anything or hear anything, if anything you gained 1-3 whp. I think might even be stretching it...I gteched mine, and noticed a .050 increase on 3 seperate runs. Could be the smoother accel? Who knows, maybe just luck. Only a dyno will be able to tell. I got brighter headlights, which was a plus since my pulleys drain it a little when stopped @ a light. Overall it's a nice engine dress up, but gains are ofcourse, minimal.

I'm just going to bring this thread back from the dead to Ask a few questions.
                            (1) Has anybody tried the Apexi grounding kit? If so, any pics?
                            (2) Is there a difference on what to do if you have relocated your battery to the trunk?
                            (3) Any pics of anybody who has there bateery relocated to the trunk with a grounding kit?
                            (4) Anyone have a ground kit with Nology wires?
                            (5) Would grounding the valve cover help the Nology wires?

I am wondering if I can use 8 gauge or 4 gauge wires?

I have just replaced and done 2 points.
The 2 by the p/steering, negative to chasis and I have seen improvement. Start up is quicker, no struggle at all, cold or hot.

Windows rolling down does not down the car.
