you will need to remove your door trim panel and make sure all the 10mm bolts are in place. As old as our cars are, they tend to loosen and even fall out. Start with the ones that hold the window itself to the regulator assembly. Run the window up and down while the door panel is off and look for obvious issues.

also check the channels that the front and back of the glass slide in, look for anything in the front track since its getting stuck there. I like to use a clear silicone spray in the window tracks as well to help lube them, this helps great with slow windows in most any vehicle.
Also look at the rail and scissors that your window motor is attached to, make sure its got plenty of grease and flows correctly.
Much of this would also hamper your window rolling up but it doesnt hurt to check all this while the door panel is off. Oh and yeah, youll have to plug the door panel back into the largest harness in the door to roll the window up and down while the door panel is off, just be careful, you will have to rotate the panel. Do not try to remove the switches from the panel...one work, breakage is easy on this old plastic.

Are you saying the window is coming up crooked?
Mine does that, I disassembled the panel and saw no loose bolts. I figured I needed a new scissor mechanism (window regulator?) and reassembled. I'll wait till it breaks.
Since mine comes up crooked, I've devised a temporary fix.
After I roll it up all the way, I get out and grasp the window and pull. I pull until it stops moving/goes back to where it's supposed to go. Downside if I have to do this every time I roll the window down

yip i have the very same problem. my drivers window was the worst and one day it actually fell out of the runners just as it started raining. i tryed re aligning the regulator and it worked for all of the 5 mins so in the end i just brought a 2nd hand motor and regulator and it seems to have fixed the problem but now my passengers window has gotten real bad lol so looks like ill have to repeat. OH my thoughts are that because the window sticks or finds it hard to wind up due to the outside trim rubber going hard it bends the regulator because when i took out my old one it was bent. thats my theory any ways.
