Stuck header

Was at the yard today and actually found something good. Dc sports header using only wrenches I took off the downpipe, the guy had scraped it so much there was a hole in the flex pipe. But I can't get the header off the head. The motor mount is on the way. would I be able to take that off or would that make things worse?

I think removing the front mount will help make room to pull forward on the header. Just make sure the side mounts are in place at least, don't want the engine falling off as that'd probably make things worse.

you should do what i do, put a rear bench or something really heavy in the way so that no one wants to take the time to move it.

Search the junkyard for scissor jacks they didn't remove from trunks and use them to support the motor just in case. Sometimes they leave them in the yard on accident. The yard out this way won't let you bring in your own jack.

Yeah it stinks when you work on something, get close to done and the yard closes. I lost some parts a couple of weeks ago this way, but was lucky enough to find more in the yard. Doubt you'll find another header like that though. The worst is when you remove it and then can't get it out of the yard because they charge more than you are willing to pay for it.

Yah I asked they said 36 I dint want the down pipe. I'm really hope its there. I never find anything there... Ever! And I'm tired of looking at the stock a6 header. I took off the heat shield last month to motivate me to get a new one.

The front motor mount is to help support the engine under torque.
The other three will support the engine itself just fine.

I got new heat wrap on there. And how should I clean off the carbon inside? Our is it pointless? I just dont want to add to the crap down stream.

B12 chemtool, this guy says it's very effective in the carb. He was even nice enough to include pictures of the before and after.
