Short ram intake vacuum box

What does everybody do with the vacuum box when they install their short ram intake?
I'm referring to the box next to the battery on the passenger side.
Can I just remove it with no ill effects? If so I have a use for the nipple on the top. My IAB black box needs one before I do my H23 IM swap.
