    squeak on passenger side

hey fellas, So im am getting this squeak everytime i turn the wheel on the passenger side. I used to have a torn boot on the steering rack on that side that i replaced about 3 days ago. the boot has been torn for idk how long. i did not really inspect the tie rod ends but the wheels have no play. do i need to shoot some silicone spray into the rack boot or brake clean?

You should have replaced the inner tie rod

I'm sure theres dirt and shit in it and its ungreased at this point

Just because there isn't any play doesn't mean its good. well i guess it is good it won't stay that way for long.

Dude (Ryandavis33) sounds like your having a few probs with your car lately sounds like mine when I first aquired it. On to my point which I'm guessing is the same I replaced both boots and a mount on my rack, I cleaned the rods with some brake cleaner then put it all back together. I wouldn't be supprised if I'm in due for a new rack but mine makes a sort of swish noise as I go side to side it's pretty bad in the morning after start up you can hear it well but after driving I can't hear it at all, no jerks in the wheel and I'm losing just a little fluid at a time because I have a leaking ( speed sensor hose , its the middle one just to lazy to fix it) I wouldn't be supprised if un matinanced racks go bad it's not something a lot of people think about every day and then they are supprised when it goes out like my friend with a 96 ford escort just lost his after his pump was the loudest thing running and now when you look at it it physically looks bent a bit he tells me its the hardest thing to turn ..
Anyways here is my 2 cents

yea i am having some problems. im telling you shit seems to go wrong before a roadtrip that you have been planning for quite some time.

Im not losing any ps fluid and the boot i replaced had a very small rip in it. i cant pin point where the squeak is comming from but i guess i will just let it go for now since there is no play in the wheel and it only does it when its cold.

i just went outside with a flash light and poked around. i went to inspect the pump and lines and i now see that my trans mount is all f**ked up. that explains the harsh shift into drive or reverse. i just hope i can make this trip in 3 days and i will fix everything when i get back.

          I need a f**king vacation!!!!

last time i had this issue it was a lower balljoint

they'll get dry before they get worn out and mine was metal on metal squeaking while it turned/pivoted in the socket
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

Like Tippey said, replace the inner tie rod ends. Tie rods have an inner and outer pair. There is a ball and socket joint on the inner tie rod that is protected by that boot.

Also did you re-attach the air circulation hose on the boot you replaced?
