Mu guess would be no abs light vs ones with it? Also sedans would have 2 more door lights than a coupe? Thats the only thing I can think of

Would all of the connections be the same? Also would I have to find one from a 1990 or would any of the cb7s work?

When I replaced mine I bought it of a seller on ebay with warranty for 30 bucks and had no issues besides replacing the dash bulbs.

I had to replace the board (printed circuit board) in the cluster in the wagon; there was an area of corrosion that affected the circuits to the speedometer and odometers. If you have a problem on the board, it can be changed without changing the odometers so you won't affect the mileage. That said, don't get a board from a wagon, it will affect the speedo (140 mph in wagon, 130 in sedan/coupe).

could have been fixed pretty easily laying solder after scraping the crap away

OP: sometimes the plug wasnt fully seated and walks out over time esp if you or someone else is popping the clusters cherry. a dab of dialectic grease on the plug will help you securely seat the plugs w/o much force (where you think youre about to break something and it finally seats) thats my 2ɔ

It was about 1/2 inch diameter and pretty ugly looking. At the time, I actually drove to FL (from OH) to fix it, working in the parking lot of my daughters' school, so it was more expedient to replace it. I don't think my hands are steady enough to solder that, I can hardly hold them still enough to fix a main relay.

well i'm gonna go to the junkyard today to see if i can find one. My one issue is the fact that my junkyard sells clusters "As Is" which means if it doesnt work i cant return it. I'm just not sure how to tell if its going to have a working odometer. I was thinking maybe if the trip had miles on it that it would potentially work. I'm just not sure.

If you pull it, take the back off and check that the printed circuit board appears to be in good condition.

Once you get it home, individual components within the cluster are swappable. You can either install the PCB in your cluster, or if you have a wiring problem in your cluster, you could install your odometer in the new cluster. The VSS provides an alternating 0-5-0-5... volt signal, you might try isolating the wires to the odometer and see if it moves when applying 5 volts on and off to it. You might also try just connecting it electrically to the car and checking it before completely reinstalling it.

Take a picture with your digital camera. (phone)
Go to the JY, and pull a cluster. Look at the plugs on the back.
If it looks like the same one on your phone (camera) it should work.
If it doesn't look like the picture you took of your ODO ..
you will notice the difference immediately!

It's just an idea, it's what I sometimes do when I need a part that I'm clueless with.
Which, happens alot for me actually ..
