no i havent taken the a look inside the head or block....probably

    something i need to do.

i was trying to set my time after installing a new dizzy.

i then noticed the motor was not running right after a new spark plug and

    dizzy.

i set my timing as i you would during a timing belt replacement. and i noticed

every time i tried set correct ignition timing the marks in the bell housing says

    different.

when i did a head swap on the motor and set the timing everything was

golden. i barely had to set the ignition timing by much. after 6months it

craps out....so, no i wasnt trying purposely set timing with 3 cylinders.
Something is internally wrong, or youre not setting the cam right, its suppose to point like near 1 o'clock not straight up like 12'o clock

ive been donated a f22b2 short block with 3000ish on the rings...werd.

hope this solves my problem for the time being.

...its a snowy day. looks like a garage project about to commence.

        my donation didnt come thru.

but i got a chance to to take the head off.

i found no cracks or flaws in the head.

i found all cylinder walls to nice and smooth.

        but,

i did noticed the top of pistons 1 2 3 are wet with fuel

but not 4th piston top, it was dry.???

could my #4 injector be bad?

          Sure it's not coolant?

Why did you pull the head without knowing the cause of the problem, and why did you think a F22B2 short block would fix the problem, when you don't even know the problem . . . .

Your lack of diagnosing the problem properly is going to create more problems rather than fixing them.

The post from you (#15) says "no i havent taken the a look inside the head or block....probably"
How can you check the timing without taking the rocker cover off . . . (unless you run no timing cover)

If you want proper help, you need to give proper info. Your posts make no sense.

Such as - "i set my timing as i you would during a timing belt replacement. and i noticed every time i tried set correct ignition timing the marks in the bell housing says different."

How can the bell housing marks say different?
          Different to what?

                im not butt hurt, bro.

just let me know im unclear to what im saying.

                back to the start:

i replaced my dizzy and spark plug after my traffic light mishap.

after installing those two new parts, i noticed i could not get

                my ignition timing correct.

i tried correcting timing numerous times. after each correction i

used a timing gun to set correct ignition timing via dizzy.

after each correction i noticed my crank timing was way off and

my motor sounded way off timed. i would get multiple back fire and

the motor could not get enough power to get over 40mph/65?kmp

to answer your question, yes i took the valve cover off each time to make

sure the cam timing marks were correct.

before i started the motor i triple check that every timing mark is correct.

but each time my motor sounds not timed and i cant get ignition timing

any close to what it needs to be.

                  Setting Cylinder #1 @ TDC

I noticed three markings on my flywheel

                  Looks like this:
                  Marking A
                  _
                  _15
                  _

(i believe these are ignition time marks)

                  Marking B
                  |
                  ------
                  |
(looks more like a cross hair)

                  Marking C
                  ____

                  (just One line)

Which is the correct marking for TDC Cylinder 1 on the flywheel?

When i did a head swap i forgot which one i used on the flywheel.

I believe it was marking (b) the crosshair looking one.

But everytime i put it at TDC on marking (b) the engine still sounds out of time.

                    TDC is the white mark.

Which timing markings (a,b,or c) on flywheel do you see when you have timing marks lined up on crankshaft pulley and cam shaft pulley?

got the motor to run. i believe i just fried my spark system. dizzy coil, plugs, and wires.

every time i tried to set ignition timing it was way off because i was getting low or no spark to the plugs. replaced the spark plug wires and it ran smooth. yay.

....but now to figure out why i have no low end power....

. . . How could you even attempt to set the ignition timing with no spark?

As I said earlier in the thread - Trying to set the timing running on 3 cylinders won't work.

At least you got it sorted.

As for your "No low end power" I'm still not convinced that your timing is correct.

car died on me last night after resetting my timing belts. ha, i WAS off one tooth on the crank gear.

everything was running fine and dandy until the motor fully warmed up and then it started, no low end power, sputters, and sounded like misfires.

on the way home car stalled and died. no start, sounds like im not getting spark. im beginning to think its my cheap a** ebay ignitor!

damn it evil_demon, why do you have to be so right?!?!

after replacing spark plug wires and a new fuel filter. i re-timed my ignition.

what do you know, i was off just enough to have no low end power.

i kept putting the timing marks in the middle of the "V" on the pointer.

                              stupid me!
