    Changing Radiator

Hello the 10th Anniversary edition I just bought I am changing the radiator in it tomorrow that's why it was overheating just a few questions is there anything I should know before swapping the radiator like what new parts should I get with the radiator and everything? And would this be a good radiator to get? I'm getting it for like 58 bucks.

I would be hesitant on spending $50 for a new radiator. I spent $80 for a Spectra I think from Autozone and worked great for me for around 10,000 miles then sold the car and probably is still going strong. My sisters car a CD5 does have a $50 Denso radiator that has been good so far, but there was an issue with the install. The inlets for the ATF cooler lines stripped the threads when I tried to put them on so I can hook up the lines to them so I had warranty it. It has been working alright now but that issue caused all the fluid to dump out on the highway.
Be unique, like every other person.

hmm....seems some of them don't have a drain plug. drain plug is a personal preference of mine in case i do a coolant flush at home. almost got ripped off at one place. yes it was cheaper at $50, BUT reading reviews online, i saw it didn't have a drain plug, no new cap and people had trouble getting the fans to fit in properly behind it, so caveat emptor i guess. when i looked in person, yeah it wasn't an exact fit, even though the sales guy tried to push it on me.

i got a spectra like another user pointed out from autozone, and it fit perfectly. no problems.

also, take the old radiator to a metal recycling plant- good $$$ for those.

Hmm I see...I had to warranty it twice now first one they gave me the wrong one without all of what was supposed to be included second one the lower metal connections bent right off with barely any pressure at all so I am receiving a new one tomorrow hopefully it's a good one with everything I need. How much would you say is one radiator scrapped?

is this the link you provided? seems like that one is an issue. look into the spectra. it's more $$$, but good quality and less headaches it seems. i'm just fussy about what i put in my car.

i got $20 for the radiator when i scraped my original that lasted 20 yrs.

I actually got a spectra from Pepboys for about 51 bucks they price matched it over 50% off plus an extra 5% off so I got it cheaper then the Advance Auto one that I had to warrant two times before even getting it in.... Advance Auto ordered another one through the warranty for me I basically called them back told them how low of a quality radiator it is they have and told them their fucked to send it back to the factory and then returned the second replacement radiator for a full refund they gave me two refunds so I essentially made money off of them fucking up LOL.....So it's a win win for me in the end :P

Yeah it was in days ago LOL. Only took me about 30-45 minutes to install it once I got the Spectra premium radiator no leaks or no loss of antifreeze now because I actually had the reservoir overfilled and it was spitting it right through the cap. Had it over the max line like a dumb ass lol thank you everyone though for your help
