So I was replacing the front door handles with rear style, which the rod doesn't line up very well since they connect at different spots. But I got it working decently smooth and opened and closed the door a few times and got it adjusted, then put door panel back on and put everything back together and close the door, BOOM won't open from inside or outside, the lock is going up and down but it feels like it is still locked like there is no pressure against the door handles. Did I miss something or is the mechanism bad? And how to get the door open?

Most likely the "rod" came off that physically pulls on the door trigger inside the door or the latch broke. Now things are going to get tricky for you, your choices are:Originally posted by 93redcb7 View PostSo I was replacing the front door handles with rear style, which the rod doesn't line up very well since they connect at different spots. 2. Get a slimjim, or call a tow truck who has one and get the door open.
3. There are people that solved their issues without drilling, but you'll break door clips, etc. http://honda-tech.com/tech-misc-15/c...lling-2731869/
Best of luck. You are up creek without a paddle at this point, best of luck.

so i actually got it open this morning, it has something to do with how i hooked up the outside door handle and ill have to fix it, but im not sure how to really hook it up because of the off angle, and i cant find any pictures or DIY's of it, it always just comes up with finished productsOriginally posted by Raf99 View PostMost likely the "rod" came off that physically pulls on the door trigger inside the door or the latch broke. I seen a DIY on this prior. Where you had to shave down the door mechanism so the handle sits flush in to the door. I wasn't aware of the awkward angle of the pull rod though. If you find an answer please share.Originally posted by 93redcb7 View Postso i actually got it open this morning, it has something to do with how i hooked up the outside door handle and ill have to fix it, but im not sure how to really hook it up because of the off angle, and i cant find any pictures or DIY's of it, it always just comes up with finished products

rear

front

see how the front is off to the side(it goes towards the outside towards the rear door) while the rear is in the middle of the handle

i had this happen a long time ago, the little clip that holds the rod to the inside door handle; theres another one that attaches everything to the latch. it failed and I was trapped. I was able to manhandle the door card enough to get needle nose pliers in there and open it up, then discovered the little plastic clip was broken and let the rod pop out. i lined everything back up and used a couple zipties to bind it all back together and it lasted years till I eventually swapped doors. with a little finesse you can get in there and open the door and replace or rig that rod clip. not a good feeling when you go to get out and the handles not doing anything, then roll down the window and still cant get out =\

mmm i didnt think about drilling another hole in the handle closer to where it is supposed to be, ill have to give that a tryOriginally posted by F22Chris View PostThe part of the exterior handle that holds that clip broke for me on the passenger side. I drilled holes, put two steel clips in them, and epoxied it back together and its held up for a little over a year now.
i already got my door open, i think it was because the outside door handle was pulling on the rod just enough so it wasnt able to unlock all the way
