Are all 90-93 CB7/CB9 5 Speed VSS the same?

I bought this VSS offa eBay, and I have NEVER had any issues with buying stuff.

Ok, well, the listing does say that it's for 94-97, but it also says that it "should" fit.
Looks just like the one I have in there lol!

I've contacted the seller, and I know that it's different if you have a auto vs 5 speed, but ..

Did I fugg up or .. ? and where's the part # for this biotch anywho? I can't see it anywhere.

There are two different VSS's for the CB7.

      78410-SY0-003 & 78410-SV4-003

78410-SY0-003 has wires coming out of the top of it into a connector.

78410-SV4-003 has a connector on top. No wires.

That's the easiest way to tell the two apart.

The one in the listing you linked to is definitely a 78410-SY0-003 style.

That stinks he sold you the incorrect part. All I know is which one your supposed to have. And the non-pigtail style 94-97's are supposed to fit. Or so I have read.

edit... if your referring to the power steering pump sensor (the thing the vss sits on top of) then no 94-97 isn't compatible with 90-93. That part is different.

          #9 in the diagram.

                FWIW,

the connectors on the sensors are all the same IIRC regardless of the direct plug in or the extended wires. the difference would come from auto vs manual as far as i know because of the difference in mounting locations between the two. I had an auto 90 cb trans, swapped in a 95 prelude 5spd (m2f4) and reused the auto sensor without issue. Bought a 98 Prelude and the speed sensor went out and i used the sensor from the 95 prelude without issue. now this only applies to the actual sensor part. that whole powersteering thing is crap. IDK why I even still have it hooked up but i do nonetheless.
