    Engine Bogging down after starting

Hey Guys, so I adjusted my valves, (also took the cap off the rotor). After I put it all back together, 50% of the time when I start the engine it like boggs down and stalls 1 second after starting it. What is happening, LOL.

It started doing this right after adjusting the valves, and needless to say, I'm concerned.

I was looking around online, and I'm thinking my valve being too tight would cause that? I adjusted intake to .010mm and exaust to .012mm.

      It's 0.010", 0.012", not metric!

Intake should be around 0.25mm, exhaust around 0.29

                So you used 0.010 imperial?

Does it start and run fine the second time you attempt to start it? Did this also start happening when it started getting much colder lately? On your next cold start, try turning the key to the "On" position, but not start, and hold it there until the CEL goes off (the fuel pump primes for 2 seconds), turn "Off", turn "On", wait the 2 seconds, then go immediately to "Start".

This helps to make sure the fuel rail is primed if your fuel pressure regulator or the check valve in the fuel pump leak some and allow the pressure that is supposed to be maintained in the rail to bleed off.

I've never had this issue before until after the vlave adjustment. Yes, it always starts the second time.
I'll try priming it next time I start it. I'll keep you posted.

(Thanks so much for the help)

I'd think that you'd have to mess up the valve adjustment pretty drastically for the engine not to run at all.

Make sure everything is plugged in properly. Igniter, coil, plug wires... Make sure everything is in good condition.
It's also possible that one of your ignition components just took a crap on you. Sometimes removing parts that are ready to fail could be just enough to send them over the edge. I always carried spare junkyard coils and igniters in my car. Never did know for sure which ones worked and which didn't, but I ended up getting it to run whenever I had problems by swapping them out for spares.

The engine runs fine, (besides the issues that I'm having still) once it starts.

I'm going to check connections again, I did take the cap off the rotor when I did the job... I don't know if I disturbed something or what.

Again, it runs normally after it bogs down (right after I start it), so I'm still confused.

Would that be a sign of a failing coil?..... Spark plugs are a year old, and they looked fine when I took them out.

So I tried priming before I started it, and it still did it.
Again, never had this happen like this till I did the valve adjustment job....

It might be worth taking the valve cover back off and double checking the clearances.
