    starter relay question

Hey if i jump my starter relay on any car, chevy lumina or even my car to get my starter going, do this rule out the starter solenoid if car now rotates starter fine? I am thinking it does on my car as my starter has a wire directly from battery to starter. What about on newer cars? It isn't something i have ever really looked at and am wondering now cause i have a starter problem on a 17 colorado. Do all vehicles have a hot wire directly to starter or do some have routes going to a fuse and relay box first.

Yes, but hot wiring a car direct to the starter bypasses that also. To my knowledge starters and starter solenoids are still the same and in the same line of ... electrical series. After all it's how the solenoid does it's job.
But I'm also no professional and I'm sure other manufactures probably tweaked the plan somehow...
