2 Auto Transmission Questions

1. If a CB auto tranny makes a whirring noise...not loud, but almost like an intake noise when the car is moving but other than that it shifts fine and smooth and does not throw codes, is it anything to worry about? The car has 148K on it, and it only needs to last another 12-15K. I'm assuming the fluid probably needs to be changed, so it's going to be scheduled to be done.

2. It's got the standard sticky transmission shift cable. Any idea what that would run for a cost to have fixed. I'm not allowed to fool around with this car.

my cars been like that since I got it last year, and I asked a guy at a honda meet on sat he has a 94 and says his makes a whurring noise on the queensway, mine only does it in first tho. I think they all start sounding like that when they get old
