ENG: Opening your hood

this is great...7 years of owning cbs and never knew how to do this!! But more importantly, in the video, you opened the car door...? How was this done? I haven't quite figured that out yet and it seems to be a very important step in getting the hood open. I got the door unlocked but it's not open... a door open DIY would be a great addition to the DIY section.

Try pulling harder. Or, make sure you pull the latch under the hood.Originally posted by Julianachos View PostI pulled the thing to open the hood but y hood no open?MRT

Now make a DIY on how to open the door. I'm having a hard time finding out how to open it. I already looked at the factory manual.

Is that what my problem is? That thing is annoying and I've never figured out how to fix it.Originally posted by GhostAccord View Post3rd request. How about a DIY on how to replace the hood latch return spring, or how to clean the cable and hood locking assembly. That way you won't have to reset the hood lock/latch by hand every time you open your hood.
I'll give it a shot, but I don't have the computing power to edit full 1080p, so it will have to be shot in one go. Any advice?MRT

Don't use WD-40. I was gonna make a video for this too.Originally posted by sanJ_01 View Postspeaking of doors, my driver door wasnt opening for a couple days this week...hopefully wd40 in the keyhole will help...anyone else have a broken seal under their hood as well, right near the latch?
Get white lithium grease, stick the tube in the key hole, and spray till it comes out. The next day your lock will open like new.MRT

Probably better to spray in some sort of grease cleaner first. I use throttle body cleaner becuase it evaporates fairly quickly. After a few minutes spray in your lithium. This way your not just adding clean grease on top of dirty old grease. It will just keep getting worse as time goes on if you don't clean it.
