That's why I'm going to use LED's an put some reflectors in my bumper.

they came out nice smooth ....not too extravagant and there OEM/DOT approved they cant tell you nuthing

Thanks, unfortunately I had to sell my car a few years ago so the I didn't have the lights back on the car.

Maybe in the future when I get another cb3 I'll use them.

As good as this looks, I should point out that you've just made your tail lights illegal by removing the reflectors. Unless you add a red reflective strip somewhere else on the rear of the car, you wouldn't pass an inspection or get out of a ticket for illegal tail lights.

Not only that, with the reflector and shroud removed, the lens no longer projects the light properly, and you would only be able to see the bulb from directly behind, and even then would look like a pin head.

Looks cool, but not safe.

Yeah it looks like it'll kill the light output maybe some kind of mirror plexi to go around the bulbs to make them reflect more light??

I notice these are all 90-91 tails has anyone done them on 92-93? I did and Was able to get the outer ones apart but the inner (the ones on the trunk lid) seem to be solid plastic. After heating them up and trying to gently pry them apart I kept breaking off bits of the housing so I got scared of ruining the whole thing and stopped. They're extras so I'm not too worried but it's still money lost.

Ya me. 9293s I don't no wat 2 do. I like the chrome on the housing.

I took them apart yesterday, I have a technique down to open them, and it works.

yes but not coupe oem tails. How did you do the oem inners on the sedan tails it might help me figure out what to do here.

anyway this is what I did:


no real problem getting the outers off except I got a little too eager and cracked one lense.


The inners however were not Tupperware soft and the housing kept cracking.





I did heat them up BTdubbs.

See those plastic tabs with glue? I drilled them out. That's wat gets caught on the inside and takes for ever to come apart. I drilled some out with my red clears. Came apart a lot better.

Now the reverse light is a seperate housung in its self.

I'm going to find inner tails at the yard and open them up for the hell of it.

Thanks I was thinking of a way to get rid of those damn clips I just wasn't sure how. I dont have a drill but I know what direction to go in now.

This kept happening to mine too, coupe inners are a bitch!

I even dremeled off the tabs and it was still hard to seperate them.

Yeah I do have a dremel so I'm going that direction to get the tabs off. I just hope I don't keep cracking shit.
