so I did etest emmission test (smog test) it passed with flying colours was suprised to see 0 readings which is crazy better then my accord, and this pos civic has original motor and a lot of k on her lol...

now that my cb is stored and it wont be back out for a good 6months its in the process of being ripped appart... interior, and exterior, most of the interior is out, the front end; ac system in the process of installation, intake and exhaust mani ripped out for complete clean+new gaskets, debating wheather to take the head off and clean up the intake/exhaust valves and replace valve seals, put about 70,000km on her last year, and the motor is a jdm h22a from 1993 never been been opened up.

also hoping the get the body fixed and repaint the car professionally and new tires 225/40/18 for the summer with front and rear camber kit, got wicked tunning rear arms already from a fellow member, just need to locate a front camber kit..

I also snapped my half inch drive 250ft/lb torque wrench trying to remove the axle nut on my winter beater civic, damn drive shaft looks original and rusty from 1990! lol she wouldn't budge life time warranty tools ftw though, haha.

will post some pics up off the work i'm doing as I go along, so far im working in a cold basement in a bulding with little to no little other then flash light... and hand tools, no experiece,not a mechanic.. just a diy'er.

Getting the head done dosent sond like a terrible idea .... maybe check the compression too.

366 000 today, went for a trip axle is fooked, all the grease came out life time warranty ftmfw anyways.

also cleaned up my fogs and resealed them since water got in, replaced bulbs since one burned out(cheap china glare kit bulbs) warranty ftw again.

yeah, a rebuild would be nice will have to see how far I get, so far shit is just comming apart so more then likely it will go down.... as for the burgany leather hmm good idea dustin since I am installing a/c for the summer should be nice. I want some kind of soft leather though like the vigor seats are a nice feel as oppose to the se leather...

I noticed today when looking at my iab (black box) that the solonoid is broken since the previous owner which I purchased the car never secured it and left it loose it was banging around the engine bay, thus more then likely my dual runners were never actuating.... no wonder why my car felt sloppy in the low end and only felt like it ripped in the high end (vtec above 5200rpm), so Im off to the jy, to pick one up one of these days...

comming apart

so today I got to play with my cb so the exhaust mani + y pipe, oil pan, intake mani, vtec solonoid,dizzy, all removed and out for cleaning + new gaskets





intake valves guides are pretty dirty and pretty much all the intake gaskets were on their deathbed as you can see oil seeping thru already,




exhaust valve guides is really dirty, haha




so now do I take the head off and give it a clean? and if I do do I need to have it machined before I put it back with a new hg? or will I risk leaks if I just reuse the same gasket and just re-torque it down... I want to do the belt and pump since I've put 70k as I stated earlyer and the previous owner at least 30k+ he did mention he did do the pump and belt and that was in march of 2007....

cleaning her up

she's comming apart slowly piece by piece, so the plans are:

new gasket/seals all around on the motor
new brakes front/rear pads/rotors
new tires 225/40/18 for the summer
full interior detail- stripping interior to be power washed





most of the parts that are out are already all cleaned up and ready to go back, just waitting for a few gasket/seals to arrive

my pos winter beater civic died on me

fuking pos civic died the other day in the middle of the road just shut off, coil went out so I paid $50 for a new coil and replaced it in the middle of the road fk it was cold outside too, so she is back up and running strong, minus the power steering started to whine like crazy but no biggie might just rip the belt off since Im use to no ps from the cb anyways, other then that the cb she sleeps as parts are being cleaned up and new gaskets arriving.
