Thanks man. I had some time on my hands while the engine was out. I'm in the process of building the top end right now actually. I just pulled the head off yesterday. I'm gunna port it out and throw in a Bisimoto level 2 cam and some bisimoto springs.

Nice man, I gotta do that. My GF's A6 is getting swapped out due to needing a rebuild so I'm gonna grab the head and port it.

I've recently begun my own tuck. In regards to your poll this is what I did, but then I have a short ram not a cold air. Used a Prelude mount from Password. Solved the potential jump start problem with remote terminals. This is a possible solution if you want to keep your trunk as clean as your bay, but still want the battery out of there.

What did you do with the fuse box and nearby vacuum boxes, btw? Did you remove the heater system? I'm trying to do my tuck without removing my nice heater. I know it gets just as cold in NE as it does here!

that's most likely the route i will be taking. i'm replacing my intake with a password-jdm carbon kevlar "whale penis" short ram, so that won't be an issue. yes, i removed the heater and ac and everything from behind the dash. blower motor broke so i saw no need for them so that gave me room to relocate the fuse box behind the glove box. i removed the vacuum box with everything but left the map sensor. thats the only thing i have connected to the TB. i wanna get the prelude TB that has the map right on top. i think it'll be a cleaner look.

do you have slicks? or is the tread just gone?

yeah, the tread's gone. The one laying on the ground there has a hole in it. The car's parked until I do an H swap in late March/early April, then I can get tires and finally drive the thing.

I want you to try something. When you're in a car traveling at speed, stick your head out the window and try to breathe. You'll notice that you'll have to try much harder to breathe properly, compared to breathing inside the car.

This brings me to my point. The engine generates more than enough vacuum to get the air it needs through the intake pipe. However, by opening up the bumper, the intake will, most likely, not be able to deliver the air as effectively.

Think of it this way: it's much tougher for humans to breathe air if it is moving at you at 70mph. If air is mostly stand-still, you'll have no problem taking deep breaths. This principle applies to car engines.
