    Audiojack : 1990 Accord EX

This is my scandinavian trim CB3. I bought it in December 2011 and it's my first car. It was almost completely stock when I bought it, only some trim was missing and the car was equipped with a Sony CD-player and Serpi Star (Gemel) car security.

As I'm a poor student I haven't had much money to spend on it, other than the necessary fixes and maintenance. The only extra thing I have bought for it so far is the sound system, which is quite basic but enough for my current needs.

    ENGINE
    Stock F20A2 engine&exhaust
    - 110hp @ 6000rpm
    - 158nm
    - Acceleration: 10,9 sec
    - Top speed 185 km/h
    - Equipped with a DEFA engine preheater
    - Red valve cover for extra horsepower(???)

    EXTERIOR
    Stock EDM spec
    - OEM NH516M Noble Silver paintjob
    - OEM spoiler
    - OEM rear lip
    - OEM headlight washers (in bad condition) (GONE!)
    - 195/65/15 summer tires on 15x7" ASA JS5 alloy wheels (GONE!)
    - 215/40/17 (front) & 215/45/17 (rear) tires on 17x7,5" MAK alloy wheels
    - 185/65/15 winter tires on OEM 15" Honda alloy wheels
    - FK Automotive lowering springs
    - OEM side indicators
    - Clear corner lights
    - Modified OEM grille
    - Mitsubishi Lancer '89 Front Lip

    INTERIOR
    - Aston HT-893 USB/SD MP3 player (GONE!)
    - Pioneer 9880R USB MP3 player
    - Unknown Pioneer speakers front&rear (two on the parcel shelf, two in the front doors)
    - 10" Rockford Fosgate P2D210 subwoofer
    - Kenwood KAC-859 amp
    - DEFA 230V socket in the interior when preheater is connected
    - EG Civic 3-spoke steering wheel
    - Honda Accord OEM floor mats
    - Homemade OEM replica shifter boot

    FUTURE
    - Lowering (looking for Form&Function coilovers when I have money)
    - Possibly some modifications to the lights (black housing?) Not these lights though, I'll get another set of housings for that
    - Dreaming of a H22 or H23 swap and a repaint but those are not realistic goals with my current status of zero cash zero credit, I don't want to do half-assed jobs with them just to be cheap
    - General good keeping of the car

    PICTURES

How it looked when I bought it (pictures taken by the previous owner), tbh still looks the same!

Only one of them seems to be OEM (front passenger side)... I'll try to remember to take a quick pic tomorrow when I go fetch it from the workplace. Left it there overnight as the windshield was replaced and I wanted the adhesive to dry well indoors. Since I don't have a garage!

Here's a pic of the floormat, I dunno if it's OEM but seems to fit like a glove. I was kind of in a hurry and didn't have time to check if it has any logos or something on the underside. My passengers were already like "what the hell are you doing man?" when I pulled out a camera and started taking pics of my floormat

Also, since the windshield got replaced I replaced the wiper blades and while at it, painted the arms matte black. Pretty insignificant really but looks a lot better from the drivers seat

The reason for replacing the windshield in the first place was that it had a lot of cracks everywhere, and even though none of them were in the view of the driver it got caught in the annual MOT test because of that. I would have most likely replaced it anyways after a while, because it was full of tiny scratches that made seeing out really hard when the sun was shining onto it.

Got a new (EG Civic) wheel, since I like 3-spokes better. Also it's a lot thicker so I can get a better grip I didn't even check if it fits the Accord at all but if not then it's just a matter of making it fit

I cleaned it and since the center logo had lost a bit of its paint somehow, I quickly fixed it with acrylic paint.. (I don't know if it stays on, but I'm not planning on rubbing the logo.. Gotta work with what you got )

Also got these nifty mats from the same EG, talk about OEM+? I just have to clean them first.

The wheel and the mats didn't cost me anything at all, even though I did pay the guy (a friend of a friend of mine) with a pack of cigs, just as a gesture of gratitude.

And a random pic of the car just to act as a filler..

The Civic wheel fit right in the column. BUT it was not perfect! The horn didn't work because the original Accord horn contact surface had a smaller diameter than the Civic one. Here's the pic of the Civic contact surface....

I could have just left it like that because who uses their horn anyways Atleast here in Finland, it's not part of the road culture..! And for the MOT I could just put the original wheel back. But that would be too easy.

                  So here goes:

That's the piece of metal I used for the new surface.

Then I simply used solder and a sort of pen size-blowtorch to put the pieces together. It's not beautiful but it works... Not like there's much strain on the piece.

And then I put the wheel back together..

Sorry for the largeish pictures too, might resize them later.

Summer is coming, and I'm now ready! I bought meself some nice new summer rims. 215/40/17 in the front and 215/45/17 in the rear.

(This pic was taken before I washed them..)

Here's how they currently look under the car...

Haven't done much else apart from the regular maintenance (swapped my air filter and spark plugs and tightened the accessory drive belts somewhat) and cleaning the car regularly (inside&outside, needs a wash again though!)

Oh, and here's a shot of how the interior looks now!

My favorite things about your car are the rear spoiler and the headlamp washers. Great work on modifying steering wheel so the horn works.

I might actually get rid of the headlight washers in the future, because they're in a pretty bad condition and are fairly useless too (I usually wipe all the lights so often that I don't need to use the washer).

It won't be happening any time soon, but if I manage to get the whole washer system out of the car I might refurbish it and maybe consider shipping it to someone there in the US since you guys seem so eager for it!
