nice shots Camurai. what lense did you shoot those with? my friends band will be performing this saturday night at a bar in philly and ill be taking some pic for him. Im thinking of pairing my D70 with a 50mm f/1.8 lense. any suggestions as far as ISO setting and anything else? im thinking of just cranking it up and opening up the aperture to get faster shutter speeds. let me knowThe CB9 has been reborn into a CB3

Those were taken with a Minolta Maxxum 5D DSLR and a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX zoom.
A 50mm f/1.8 will definitely be fast enough, but you may find it difficult to compose your shot properly with a fixed focal length lens. You'll have to move around a bit and dodge people to look for the best shot. As far as settings, crank up the ISO to at least 800. I typically shoot at 1600. (Your shots may be somewhat noisy, but this can be corrected somewhat later with noise reduction software such as Noise Ninja.) Try to stay between f/1.8 and f/2.8 on Aperture Priority (AV). You should also use a custom white balance. I forgot to do so with the shots above, which is why there's so much red/yellow bias. I typically set my WB at 3500K or so for concerts, especially if they're using a lot of red stage lights, and most clubs do.~If everybody you knew jumped off a bridge...the bodies would pile high enough to break your fall if you jumped after them.~

cb7wagonPL, did you reset your white balance? It looks like your camera was set on Auto WB for these images. Next time, try manually setting your WB around 3500K. This should pretty well compensate for the overuse of red tungsten lighting and give you much more natural colors.~If everybody you knew jumped off a bridge...the bodies would pile high enough to break your fall if you jumped after them.~
