Man I need new computers

So, I used to have a sweet setup but now it's verging on the edge of sad.

Here are my machines:

1.06ghz celeron with 512gb ram and 80gb hdd - Hooked to the TV
3.06ghz Pentium 4 with 1gb ram and 80gb hdd - main browser/work machine
3.06ghz Pentium 4 w/ HT, 2gb ram 128mb video - main gaming machine
2.5ghz Pentium 4 with 1.5gb ram and 80gb hdd - Firewall
1.5ghz Intel something with 1.25gb ram and 60gb hdd - Wife's main machine

So, they're all alright but that's about it. My Wife really wants a Mac, which is fine by me now that I've got some experience with one. So that's about $1,000.

I'd like to build a P4 server with RAID 0 or 5 for massive backups - Figure $500.

For a main machine, I'm not sure what I want. I think I'd build a desktop and then buy an EeePC for a mobile device.

An EeePC is about $400
The desktop I'd build is probably at least $1000.

Man, I need to find a higher paying job. :P

Yeah, I got my main laptop in 2002. It was about $2,000 at the time. Now a $500 machine would probably be a lot faster. Ugh.

This still does what I need it to do. I just wish I could afford some more current machines. Man, I need to win the lottery.

Both have redundant power supplies.
Both hooked to my 28 port switch.
Why don't you use a router for a firewall? I could use 2003 OR 2008 server as a firewall. Yet, I trust netgear more.

I could look on ebay and CL but I don't like the quality I've gotten before. Really just need a new main computer.

Also want to buy a car sometime soon so... yeah. No good.

it used to be my powerhouse PC back in the day, after i joined the corps, it became a server running server 2003 enterprise, haven't really used it in a while since i sold all the drives and server as well lol

AMD 1.8Ghz 1 GB RAM 80GB HDD
Intel 1.5Ghz 1 GB RAM 30GB HDD (laptop)

The worst is that none of the machines have SATA connections on the mobos. I wish I could upgrade all the machines in my house. At least something with 2x 2TB Sata drives, Windows 7, 6-8GB RAM, Dual Core.
