Please DO NOT Post In The General Section
From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

A shorter crank wont do anything, well depending on how much you shorten it.Originally posted by GeoffMisiaklol @Deity
So... forged pistons and a shorter crank?
I suppose if you wanted you could shorten it enough and make it a single cylinder engine.
Destroke does not mean a shorter crank.
In order to run in the vicinity of 14k rpms, you need to lower the rotational mass, and have a short stroke to obtain lower piston speeds.
Ultimately It would no longer be a 2.2 liter engine, more like 750cc.
And then you would need to look into a custom built cambelt in order to compensate for the lower block height.
Look up F1 engine design and construction, that will give you SOME insight into what is required and why it's required

Reciprocating valve bodies. Valve springs will float at that RPM. Like said earlier... LOTS of money!Originally posted by Junior SmurffNevermind guys, google search works wonders!

Safely for a DD? Not gonna happen. Probably wouldn't happen ever.
It would be cheaper to get an engine from an F1 car and swap it in. Those have a short stroke, and small pistons. For something spinning that fast, you don't want a lot of mass at the end of the rods.
Of course, since there are some serious secrets hidden in those engines, you'd probably have to kill someone to get your hands on one.

F22 = not gonna happen
A much more realistic way to rev to ~16,500rpm in your Accord is a Yamaha R6 motor swap. A bike motor in a car has been done so you could try contacting someone who has done it and figure out what all you need.
You could probably do it for under 15Gs including parts and labor if you find a good fabricator who would be willing to do some fab work on the side.
It would be pretty insane and pointless though because you can just buy a motorcycle?

A hayabusa is in my future, but I still would like to build a decent motor that would rev to 19k. Swapping in a bike motor wouldn't help, just like swapping in traction control wouldn't help.Originally posted by rexload View PostF22 = not gonna happen
